Getting mine in a few hours.  FORGET EVERYTHING I SAID BEFORE, I CAN'T LET GO. HD 800 is the best headphone I ever had but then I had too many, and then i had no time and now living with one headphone (which is quite better) I realized I don't want to waste time anymore and get one TOTL for all BECAUSE TIME IS PRECIOUS AND I DON'T WANT TO MISS OUT.

I just spoke with a retailer who talked directly to the US rep. He said, "not yet available in the US. Projected to be shipping in March."

I got HD 800 2 days ago and I am not sure if I should return it and wait for the HD 800 S, waiting for some review to show up how HD 800S compared to HD 800.

I only got my HD800's a week ago, only way I'll be upset is if the new ones start showing up on ebay for £675. I highly doubt it though.

I had different information from a retailer who spoke with the US branch yesterday.  Was pretty clear on pricing and delivery date of mid Jan so somethings wonky somewhere.
 
My thought was Sennheiser was timing the release with CES( Jan 4-9); Show em off, make them available at retailers shortly afterwards.

Break those bad boys in! The 800S difference will be minimal, if large difference it would be called the 850, or 900. I do love the black color though.

It seems the headband still says HD 800. Such sloppy attention to detail.

Well, looks like my HD800S headphones have left Germany (or soon will) for Canada. Can't wait...I know expecting them before Christmas is a stretch...but before New Years is a definite possibility!
 
Thanks again to Jan Meier from Meier Audio...seriously guys, dealing with Jan is a pleasure (he had them shipped out literally within an hour of receiving payment)! He's been around Head-Fi for a long time and is definitely one of the good guys!
