^^Agree with the above. I have the Dekoni pads on my HD800S and there may be a tad more low-end accentuation. No compromise noted with anything else in the frequency spectrum, to my ears. Lastly, I'm a fan of EQ, so one could simply add a single dB here or there in the bass or sub-bass and achieve something similar.
Thank you everyone for the answers! I will test the Dekoni mentioned above. I believe it will be a good help.
Maybe it will also help a little with the head adjustment so that the HD800s is a little firmer.
Without putting price into the equation and assuming that the Amps are being fed by the same DAC (Qutest or Ares II), which of the amps below would bring the best of the HD800s to the table:
Violectric V222 or Schiit Lyr+.
Has anyone tested these possibilities on the HD800s?

Ha, not an easy answer because both are great with HD800S. For the Ares II though, I would go with the V222 to take advantage of its balanced output which is marginally better than the single ended.
How much do you prioritize soundstage btw? When I used the He1000v2 with the v222 & bifrost 2/64 the soundstage didn’t feel that wide but the dynamics/bass felt great

I've been reading a lot of your reviews of some products.. I bought a few! Thank you for helping with the revisions, but my wallet hasn't been very happy with it!
From what I've read, V222 is not that clinical. It's more on the warm and soft side. Wouldn't the V222 together with the Ares II make something too smooth?
The V222 will arrive within 3 days, I will be able to test it, but opinions from those with more experience are always welcome. I think anxiety is high here too…

I also have the HEK stealth and I asked the same question in the HE1000 thread…
From the reviews I've seen, the Soundstage of the Lyr+ in tube mode is perhaps a little wider than the V222.
On the other hand, I've had Lyr+ with me for a few days now and I can't feel the “Tubey” sound that would theoretically alleviate the HD800s' treble peaks.
It seems that the V222 will bring more bass and “relieve” the treble peaks… but the stage would be smaller..
Yeah, the He1000 Stealth pairs extremely well with the V222 but I'm honestly unsure about how it would be with the HD800S. When I was deciding between the HD800S and HEKV2 non-stealth I heard very good things about the Mjolnir 3 with the HD800S specifically (should also work with your stealths) so maybe look into that amp since the v222 is around the same price. If anything you could also EQ the treble peaks if you want but I personally don't like to use EQ at all lol

I don't like eq either... I avoid it as much as possible!
Some people mentioned in the thread about the V222 that it matches very well with HD800s.
Many of them said it was one of the best synergies between the HD800s and the SS amp.
When the V222 arrives, I will listen calmly and try to find the best synergy between the Amp and the DACs and Headphones.
I don't know if I'll keep both amps. Only if there is an audible difference.
I've seen a lot of praise for Mjolnir 3 too! We will see!!

I read a lot of Ichos reviews.
I'm quite confident in the V222's synergy with the HD800s.
Now it's time to wait for it to arrive and connect the Senns to it.
I've lost count of how many times I've refreshed the tracking page to see if it's any closer.
