The amount of ravings in this thread should be featured on the Guinness book of records .
It's as if there was nothing better than the hd800, except the stax 009.
And even the stax 009 doesn't have the amaaaazing soundstage of the hd800.
Have we reached the sky ?

That's normal on every appreciation thread in this forum. Or do you expect objectivity from the most die-hard fans?

On the HD800 the bass seems to come from nowhere. On the UERM you can hear that the bass is being generated. To me that makes it feel like the HD800 goes lower. The same is true of the highs, but to a lesser degree. The HD800 has superior separation, but it is not night and day.

I kind of feel the same way with all my full-sized cans vs IEMs.

Hmm, not sure I understand what that means.  When you say you can hear the bass being generated, does that mean the attack is better?  (Lol)  Or that somehow it sounds too immediate and perhaps artificial due to the closer presentation.  I guess it's hard to communicate with words, I'll find out soon enough I think, just heard back from SE on their 5-way.  If it fits my ears, I'm diving.

Thanks everyone, for the opinions.

UERM - Got bass, but feel like no extension in comparison, this is the UERM character, consider its pros and cons. It's hard to hear low bass from UERM. For example if you are playing Vocal Jazz and there is a Double Bass instrument playing in the background mix with other instrument, the effect of Double Bass like heedlessness.

If wanna describe, it would be like: BOM! BOM! BOM!, while other would be BOMMmm! BOMMmm! BOMMmm..!

UERM - By sometime i heard the bass effect like: doBOM! doBOM! doBOM! (like two different sound, clear and noticeable), while other would be still the same BOMMm! BOMMm! BOMMm..!

It definitely is a match. I use the V200 amp mostly with the HD800 and they sound great. I think the amp in my dac is superior but I end up using the V200 since I definitely like the tone slightly more with the V200.

On another note I haven't been able to take the HD800 off today. I'm not sure if it's the Anax mod I did recently or could be that the HD800 are that amazing with the songs I'm playing or a combo of the both. The HD800 pretty much cured me of the buy/sell game that lots of people get lost in head-fi and gladly spend my money mostly on music instead.

X3 on the V200,

Most people said HD800 is good with Tube amp. If you got bucks, ya. You should go as higher as you could.

Trust your own ears, find a shop to test SS amp and tube amp. If can't, you have to spend some time to read and get information in this forum. No need to rush, be patience.
