There was no difference when I compared the Twag and stock cables on my headphones - keeping in mind that these two cables are probably more similar than different .

That's next up on the measurements.

Well, the pair I snatched up has a balanced cable but I have no balanced amps at the moment, heh.  I can run single ended converted for Zana Deux or possibly run out of the output of Mini-Dac or PWD w/ Volume Control :)  Or I can re-imagine my dynamic setup with a different amp.

I missed the hd800's I hope they're as great as I remember them.

My HD800 are SN 3770. I have them with a Zeus OCC Copper cable and also a mod where Robert replaced the tiny SPC wire from the connector to the driver with a OCC Wireworld wire and the difference huge! The HD800 and my HE-6 with Zeus cable are my two favorite headphones in my collection.

The Zeus and Wireworld wire really made the HD800 sound more organic and natural without losing any detail. Out of my WA5-LE are just fantastic.

That SPC wire replacement sounds hardcore.  I personally wouldn't want to risk that procedure lol!

True. That is why I got a professional to do it instead of myself. As small as it looks it makes a difference.

Actually Robert has his personal pair hard wired eliminating the connector.

Thanks. I remember when I had HD600 and Cardas cable did exactly what you said his cable did to HD800- reduced treble and added bass.

Yes my experience also. Stock cable is perhaps a bit more transparent but I have a slight bias for the Cardas. Mine is serial number 10900 so should be from the new batch I suppose? Based on what I read it was much softer then I expected.

Anyway what I really would like to ask do anyone know of an adapter that goes well with the cardas 2x3 balanced cable?. The amp I am getting have the 4-pin connection.

This is the only thing about the cable that turns me away from buying it- the option of only dual 3 pin XLRs instead of 4 pin. One option is DIY. Unless you expect you will get an amp that only has dual 3 pin XLR output but I haven't seen any commercial amps made that way. It is also the cheapest option. You can always revert back to dual connectors.
