Or spell it before them

I am trying to decide between the HD 650 and HD 700 ... Even at the current price of ~$ 550 for the HD 700 is the HD 650 still the better choice ? if so why ?
Unfortunately the store where I am going to try the HD 650 does not have the HD 700 for auditioning. I was hoping someone here could help.
Note: I've the LCD-3 at home and I really like the way they sound. Looking to pickup either the HD 650 or 700 for work.

So how bad of a choice is this headphone for electronic music?

Well, you will get a lot of opinions, all of which will have limited value for you and your ears; but, as someone that frequently switches between the 650/700, I will tell you what I like.
For me, when I am listening to: jazz, classical strings (chamber orchestra, soloists), classical piano, EDM, or ambient-electronica, I personally use the HD-700.
For female vocals (pop, rock or jazz), classic rock, alternative rock, et al., the HD-650s are world class; again, IMO.
For metal, trip-hop or acoustic guitar, I switch to a different amp and my Grados (I am looking to add a planar for metal...)
YMMV. I hope that helps.

The HD 650 ? The HD 650 is a world class headphone in just about any ones opinion. When you get down to extremely fine subtleties, the "best" choice is going to be a matter of opinion and personal preference. If you have the opportunity to audition a few of the compotition, do so. Otherwise shop for the best price (maybe $300 US) and buy them. If long term your not happy you can always sell them for better then $250 on ebay

I think the HD650 is one of the best allround headphones available considering its price. They work very well with electronic music imho, but they could be better with acoustic and classic music.
Currently listening to this album, I forgot how good it sounds through the HD650..

+1 ... I saw the Moody Blues in the late '70s... Epic!
