wow nice blue cables!
I've been a Cardashian for a long time. (Their interconnects and power cords, more so than HP cables).

I bought the HP cable from CAM a while back (Canuck Audio Mart), in SE mode. Then I sent it to Josh at Cardas in Oregon, where they put a 4-pin XLR connector on the cable for balanced use. They're good people, and their servicing is tops.
Yes, a Cardashian is not a title that's taken lightly, despite one of their cables being named Clear Light.

Here's the balanced Cardas cable after the connector was put on it by Cardas:
They use only Litz copper wire, so don't try to switch out the connector yourself, unless you are very good at working with Litz conductors.

I must agree with the topic in the previous page. One should looking for the sound it likes the most. For example, when you go to a concert, the acoustics may not be perfect, your seat is too far away or in a side, etc. With the HD 650 (i just have a few hours listening with them, don't take me so seriously), you may not feel you are in a concert, because of the soundstage that i can hear, but it can put you in the director's place, for me it's a really enjoyable experience.
So, for me, a detailed, flat headphone with a huge soundstage, may not be ideal.

^ I like to say: If I want to "be there", I buy a concert ticket.

The 650s do not have a mystical ability to sound better with higher end gear that no other headphone has, especially not one in the same family.
I have HD600 with HD650 drivers installed. I can change them back in forth, and seldom I do. I can certainly say that I can tell the difference, however they look very alike.

Not night and day difference, though, right?

Of course. I didn't say the 580/600/650 were identical. I have the 580 and 650. I have been having fun with binaural recordings and other kinds of recordings that use speaker tricks and such listening too a certain section and quickly swapping between the 580 and 650 just to hear the differences. Its striking how similar they are.
