Just got the (least expensive) DHC / Double Helix Cable for my HD650. I like it :) Better sound and it even weighs less than the stock cable.

The Upstate guy watch is on.

Anybody listening to the new The Weeknd on their 650s? It is *awesome.*

Hmm, those spec aren't too bad.  Do you still find the HD650 a little too dark out of the I-225?

The sound from the Sr-71 is really veiled but out of the I-225 it isn't. It is a  night and day difference. The impact of the music on the I-225 is higher at lower volumes than on the sr-71. With the Sr-71 you have to turn up the volume a lot higher to hear more detail in the music both are better however than just connecting to just a iPod however.

When you say better do you mean more detailed and better sparkle? That's exactly what my HD650 needs....

Not sure if that's a cable or a magic pill you're looking for!

(Of course, I've never heard a high end cable so who am I to judge... Maybe I will some day and they'll be able to fix whatever I find missing in a headphone!)

Okay. You need to listen to some high end headphones. Seeing is believing. Oh wait, that's for Bigfoot. Hearing is believing, my bad.

I would try some cheap solid silver interconnects (plenty on fleabay) before trying any upgrade headphone cable, especially if you are using tubes with the 650's.

I tried an upgrade cable from Q-Audio. Updated my listening pleasure quite a bit.

Hey everyone!  I'm relatively new to the head-fi world.  I've had my hd-650's for a few weeks and was absolutely blown away by them even with an old NAD integrated amp.  My Woo Audio WA6 just came today, and I can't imagine a better sound than this.  I have a bifrost on backorder, so I can't wait for that little guy to get here...but I am just so happy with this setup.

Any HD650 owners like/listen to these composers?

Eric Whitacre
Moses Hogan
Stephen Paulus

or listen to these specific songs on theirs?

Einleitung (from Tristan and Isolde)
Rachmaninoff - Piano Concerto no.2
Ralph Vaughn Williams - Dona Nobis Pacem
Stravinsky - Symphony of Psalms

Specific recordings you used would be cool too if you know that info. Also, anyone try out some popular film scores? Star Wars, E.T, Godfather, etc.

I'll look at them, but I usually only listen to Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard on my HD650's.
