You can build your own from Canare or Mogwai cable. Several places sell Neutrik and other vendors connectors etc.
I have built dozens of cables for $25 - 45...and they are as good as others costing "tons" more at least with my ears.

If you can solder and cut wires to length look into this....if not there are several low cost good quality cable makers out there...like periatcables etc..

Just remember not to listen after midnight or you’ll have Gremlins in your amp

Relatively inexpensive balanced cable I use from Periapt cables...I think $70 or so.

Whats the best bang for buck cable upgrade these days? I'm skeptical of the cheap ones on Amazon that are 'disposable cables'...

I need a 1/4" one, and also XLR. I prefer readily available options in the US.
I sell a Mogami 4 core cable for €50 (bought for €110). PM if interested

It tightens the bass a bit and makes the treble a bit smoother in texture

Has anyone here tried the new ZMF pads with the Sennheiser 6 series?
I just got all 3 sets of pads. Going to do a write-up on them for the 580/650 in the near future.

Apologies if this has been discussed earlier but has anyone tried the new ZMF pads for the HD6x0 series?

I have a pair of 650s from 2015 that is still on the original pads. I am finally thinking of getting a pair of new stock pads but am curious to try out the ZMF pads.

If the results are favourable, is there an advantage between lamb skin vs. suede?

Haven't listened to them on my 650's yet, but I did just finish listening to all the pads on my 580. Should be very similar results to the 650.

Not going to say a whole lot until my full comparison is done, but the perf suede and lambskin pads give a substantial increase of soundstage and depth. I was honestly really surprised by it. Also the suede and lambskin pads are pretty similar. Just like all the other suede vs lambskin ZMF pads I've used, suede's tend to be more smooth and airy sounding. Lambskin pads tend to be more focused and energetic.

By energetic, do you mean more bass? I've been running my HD650s with stock pads balanced lately and have enjoyed how the veil seems be lifted. The punch is also turned up slightly and I've really enjoyed it with more modern pop music. I just don't want to over do it in my experimentation with ZMF pads, hence the dilemma choosing between suede or lambskin.

No, more like the transients feel a little snappier on the lambskin. Also maybe a little more in the upper mids. I'm going to listen to the pads with the HD650 tonight.

I'm pretty sure the only big bass increase you'll see will be with the solid pads, and they have some drawbacks.

I found all pads that are thicker than stock to have snappier transients. I think it’s due to the resonance because of the extra distance between your ear and the driver.

Philips L2 pads are actually the best I’ve tried, they retain the soft transients of the stock pads because depth is the same, but they have slightly bigger bass and smoother uppermids and treble vs stock due to them being leather.
