I'll be feeding the 650s with foobar2000 > xonar dx > toslink > Modi 2 Uber > Vali 2. I've heard good things about the 650s with the Vali 2.

Any suggestions for burn in methods? This will be the first headphones I've ever burned in and I'm not sure about the volume and type of music to play.

Just listen to them. Most, if any burn-in, comes
from the pads decompressing and forming to your skull.

I usually don't believe in "burn-in" but I think @Liu Junyuan idea about the pads compressing and forming to your head might have the effect of "burn-in".  Mine haven't changed and even if it did it couldn't be much, as the others have said, just play some music and don't worry about it.

Yeah I'm just listening to mine; in my opinion they sound pretty ace out of the box - if they get any better that's a bonus!

Glad you are enjoying yours right out of the box and hope they give you as much enjoyment as mine have

what u guys think is the best tube amp for the 650hd under 200$? i was pretty disappointed with the schiit vali 2 because it literally sounded exactly liek my o2, didn't have any tubish warmness/honey smooth sound... also i've noticed even a lot of expensive tube amps like the firefly aim to be neutral... what tube amp under 200$ would give me that nice warm honey sound? im guessing since 650hd is higher impedance, i would want an OTL tube amp right? is littledot mk2 my best bet?

also, can i go rca out from a turn table to 3.5m input into o2 or rca input to the littledot mk2? the amp will amplify the phono signal right? or would i need a phono preamp to bring the phono signal to line level, and then use my littledot mk2/o2?

You need a phono stage to apply RIAA equalization (and amplify the signal a bit.)

A tube amp <$200 is a tough proposition. Try some Chinese stuff from eBay. Hell, even Aune's T1 tube buffered DAC is pricier than that... Haven't heard the Littledot but I'm sure it would bring some warmth. Won't need the O2 if you're using a phono stage to feed the Littledot as the stage will be at pre level.

Have you tried rolling a warmer sounding tube into the vali 2?

no i haven't cus i heard lot of people say its designed to be pretty neutral, but i heard that the tesla e88cc tube is good with the vali 2, do you think that is my best bet?

otherwise if i went another 100$ and got the dark voice, would that be the best bang for the buck?

I've never heard the vali 2, so I'm probably not the guy to ask, but with the Aune t1 I used to use, the Amperex 7308 was a very nice, warmish tube...
