sennheiser hd650 is better than akg k701??

I am in the process of obtaining an HD650. I own a K701, and an HD600 w/Equinox Cable. To my ears, IMHO, the K701 betters my HD600 w/Equinox, but not by much! I am hoping, that I don't have to choose between the 701/650, because, I really love the Senn sound dearly! I also previously owned an HD650, but I never properly gave it enough break in, and my musical tastes have broadened over time. The Equinox, is a fantastic upgrade to my HD600, so I beleive that having both the 701, and 650, would be the best of both worlds for me!

i heard, you have to pay about 450 $ for the hd 650 in the usa, in norway youre above 600 $... i dont know, if thats right... but here we only have to pay about 210-220 €.

akg... well, i dont know about the prices in other countries. 297 sounds good, but if you wait a few weeks, i suppose it will get more cheap...

other stuff like grado is very expensive here.

HD650s usually go for round $330-350ish in the states IIRC.

I'm getting interested in this K701 many speak of, perhaps with some research and time I may be persuaded to switch sides.

agreed. If you want something better, pay more

and sometimes even paying more, you aint getting alot more juice out of what the sub $300 phones could do. It's a matter of difference, and how much more would you willing to pay for those differences.

Seriously, those QC2's imo wins the most comfortable pair of cans award....Its light and its soft, what else can be as comfortable as that?
