I think these are awesome looking but i want a high end Closed headphone.
 
Since these are an open design, will it be like buying a Ferrari and putting monster truck tires on it?

It'd be like grabbing a high school student and giving him a PhD so that he can get work easily.
 
It's MUCH harder to make closed headphones sound good compared to open ones. You'd have a lot of trouble with reverb, materials, tonality, soundstage and detail.
