I recently got a new style HD600 and the headband seems a bit more sturdy and smooth while adjusting than the S2 I got earlier last year. I'm wondering if anyone feels like the headband on their S2 is not as sturdy feeling as other newer HD600 or 650 models? Or perhaps it's just manufacturing variability and I just got a less sturdy one, or it loosened up after nearly a year.
Always like new refurbs directly from Sennheisr UK , £354. "Certified Refurbished
Products that have been tested, checked, and thoroughly inspected to meet the same high-quality standards as our new products." https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-UK/p/hd-660-s-2-refurbished
did removing the pads open up the soundstage a little more?
i feel like it did so they are much closer to the 109 now then i thought, but with a more enjoyable treble

Both my 600 and 660s2 are new 2023 , that's what driver has written, and they are exactly the same about stardynes.
What is different between my 600 and 660s and S2 other than the obvious driver cable etch etch are the black marks around the driver when u take out the foam . On 600 the black marks are thicker.

The foam I guess? I have tried different materials way back and also no foam at all . There is a small difference. But I mostly use beyerdynamic 770 or 990 foam discs .
Guys, wanna know a great combo!?
Amp is called Project Polaris and it pairs perfectly with 660s2 when you choose 32 ohm output R. Amp is very affordable and its made to sound like a tube amp. 660 sounds better from this little buddy than from my 2 lot more expensive amps.
Cable is a nice find, 40 euros from Ali.
Well assume you mean cursed like not being around anymore , rather than a bad headphone. If you do like the 660s there are a fair few being sold all over at good prices. Which may go up. Glad iv got mine , I like it. Very good for playing direct from audio players.
Still like mine, it's in rotation, currently trying Qobuz with them as I got a free month. I've been doing fine with Youtube Music for over a year, frankly most things sounds quite good with 256kB AAC, but well now trying Qobuz Studio with up to 24/192kHz FLAC. I have used Tidal, Apple and Amazon Unlimited(and Spotify, but they have no lossless of course) in the past but found no incentive to keep using any of them over Youtube Music. We'll see how Qobuz fares.
Currently rotating 660S2, NDH30, HE400SE, DT900ProX and HD560S(for gaming) on a regular basis, all has their pros and cons. Using SMSL SH-6 for "fine" listening, Tascam Model 12(with Presonus HP4) for general productivity/gaming and a MOTU M2 for my bedroom rig since it has a surprisingly ok headphone out. Yes, I like to fall asleep with a competent pair of cans playing on my head LoL
I just upgraded from Sennheiser HD380Pros, and wow, what a difference! I always knew that my 380’s were, shall we say, forward in the highs to the point of harshness, but the 660S2’s represent highs without abusing me! Talk about a relief. My experience with the 380’s had a bit of distortion across the range that my new cans completely lack, and I’ve only just started listening to them. If headphone break-in is a thing, I can only imagine how they’ll sound after they do.
