Yo Kman, how do you compare the T1.3 vs the HD660s2? Sorry if you've made a comparison between the two previously but I'm curious.
Should have launched at that price. $500 is still overpriced but would have been more palatable for most consumers. $400 would have been the perfect launch price but then Senn's profit margin wouldn't have had been as large. I'd argue it would've done wonders if they launched at $400 for overall sales, hype, marketing, etc.A little savings to be had..again.

I haven't done any in-depth direct comparisons of the two as I was focused on getting to know the S2 exclusively. But in the regards to the two, I do think the T1.3 is a higher tier of headphone. The S2 is somewhere between the T1.3 and S1 in terms of fidelity, I would have to listen to them on more systems to know for sure. May be weird of putting it, but HD 660S2 is sort of like if you sprinkle a tad of T1.3 on the HD 660S, but it's more intimate than either in terms of soundstage width. The T1.3 is more v-shaped in tuning than the S2. The S2 is definitely and HD 6xx series headphone, but it is the most relaxed in the upper mids of the bunch. Neither the S2 or the S1 has the dynamic range of the T1.3. Like other of the HD 6xx series it's on the more relaxed side and has that excellent HD 6xx series naturalness and timbre to it. I did find there was an oddly addicting nature to the S2 sound that made me want to listen to them.Yo Kman, how do you compare the T1.3 vs the HD660s2? What does this mod do to the sound? There is a fine ‘mesh’ in lieu of the foam. Here is a closer view:
The sound is airier, clearer, more immediate - without shoutiness or stridency. What does this mod do to the sound?
I would try this mod, would you say it brings it closer to Focal Clears? The sound is airier, clearer, more immediate - without shoutiness or stridency.
Closer, yes. However, Focal Clear (original) has sonic attributes that 660S2 does not have - and vice versa. That is why I own both.I would try this mod, would you say it brings it closer to Focal Clears?
Variety is Awesome!Closer, yes. However, Focal Clear (original) has sonic attributes that 660S2 does not have - and vice versa. That is why I own both.
Definitely different so farCloser, yes. However, Focal Clear (original) has sonic attributes that 660S2 does not have - and vice versa. That is why I own both.
Different from Focal Clear or different from before the foam removal etc.?Definitely different so far
Different before removal. I never heard the Clears. I agree that it's more airier and clear, but sounds like there's less bass in return.Different from Focal Clear or different from before the foam removal etc.?
I like variety in headphones, where each is musically convincing and enticing in its own way. If album (or track) “A” sounds iffy to me with headphone “B”, I’ll give headphone “C” a go at it. Each album (or track) exhibits different priorities in its mixing / mastering. I do not use dedicated ‘black box / silver box’ EQ. A change in the headphone used is my EQ .Variety is Awesome!
