I have some of these coming in the next couple of days and am eagerly looking forward to trying them out. I currently have the 660S and this thread has peaked my interest in the 660S2. Fortunately in Mexico the price on Amazon (10,300 pesos, including 16% tax)) was the equivalent of about 545 USD. Normally it's usually the reverse with US prices being much cheaper so I had to try them!
No burn-in. Burn-in do not exist unless there is something seriously wrong with the construction. Old speakers with paper surrounds did get slightly more smooth over the years when the paper got mushy but really not modern HP drivers. ON the other hand, your brain needs burn-in as it always takes some time for your mind to adjust to a new sound source.
A rainy and gloomy day where I am. Perfect day to listen to some tunes on the S2, hooked up to my Jot 2 / BF2 OG. It's been a great couple of hours to say the least.
No EQ, no fatigue and the headphones just disappear....I've been completely immersed in the music.
You need to exclusively listen to them for the near future 1 or 2 weeks. Then after you can compare. I did today and do not like the HD660S v.1 so much anymore.
Playing advocate of the devil: Zeos came to his conclusion only after removing the original pads and put on 109 pads!
No other reviewer/owner has done this.
The 109 pads don't have clothing before the driver, the original pads have.
So to start the magic of the Ghost you'll need 109 pads or cut away the clothing out of the original pads.
