I received my HD 660 S2 yesterday and the first impression is very promising. Deep and juicy bass, very nice midrange and extended but very smooth treble.

• The WA3’s higher nominal output impedance really matches well with that of 660-S2, thankfully 300 ohms.Great news! I used it with the Cavalli Liquid Carbon last night. I will fire up the WA3 tonight!
• While Woo Audio does not specify the OI on the website, mine clocked in at just over 120 ohms - when measured by an EE / technician neighbour.
• Don’t be surprised if WA3 / 660S2 allows the music to blossom. No anechoic, linear, sterile ‘lab instrument’ sound here!

Is there really such a kind of sound? "Anechoic" AND linear at the same time?No anechoic, linear, sterile ‘lab instrument’ sound here!
I won't be surprised if after some years (or sooner) the HD-660S2 will be widely considered the best of the HD-6** series!I received my HD 660 S2 yesterday and the first impression is very promising. Deep and juicy bass, very nice midrange and extended but very smooth treble.

It is already, to my ears. I am not a huge Sennheiser booster, but they got this one right. Pricey, but right.I won't be surprised if after some years (or sooner) the HD-660S2 will be widely considered the best of the HD-6** series!

I’ve only heard the 660S2 once, and it was against my 6XX with ZMF sub pads on an Ampsandsound Mogwai. I pretty much liked everything about the sound better than the 6XX. I find the 6XX both too forward in the mids and too relaxed in the treble, creating a sort of fatiguing-ly veiled sound. I found the S2 to fix all of that, with less forward mids and a more present (more accurate) treble.I won't be surprised if after some years (or sooner) the HD-660S2 will be widely considered the best of the HD-6** series!
Gotta see how I like them on my home setup though…sometimes I think there’s something in the air in hifi shops/shows that makes you like a thing more than you would normally lol
