Yes, quite right - the M100 are portable, JVC Live Beat are not. So both with different purposes really. Listen to gikigill.
 
Oh yes, now that you bring it up... not much portable, again, but yes the Fostex TH600... tell you what, Fostex x00, and even better, EMU Teak are better than 600, cuz much cheaper, and delivering the same. It's high time now that you look at reviews (including my EMU Teak review). If you think you can get your budget to $500, hands down the best option for you is Fostex/EMU (all things lower than 600, 610 and the hefty price 900).
 
But again, some problems in portability. No problems in amping though. So again, if portability is your thing, check other options.

Been using the HD8dj for a while now. They are really good for any kind of mixing! I actually use them mainly for video editing, my only complaint is that the pressure on the headband gets a bit tight after a long day!

Probably because of the extreme dip in the mids lol. Also a little bass bleed. Imo. Isolation is great but you'll need to buy another cable for portable use. I prefer the Momentum 2.0. Unless you only listen to EDM/Pop/Top 40's, I wouldn't really recommend these anymore.

I like sound on HD 8 DJ without any amplifier. I am just wondering if using amplifier with HD 8 DJ make significant sound improvement or difference? I have never used amplifiers before with any of headphones. please suggest.

Yup, amplifiers work well with the HD8.

My velour pads just broke today even though I don't use these all that much. The glue that keeps them together unsealed and now the foam inside is protruding.

Using the normal pads that came with them and they sound so different lol.

Glue them together with Loctite superglue.  Or you can buy new ones from Sennheiser for $45 + shipping or something like that.  They should replace them for you, though, if they are under warranty, I would think?

If less than 2 yrs old they would still be under warranty.
