Has anyone got to hear the 449's yet? I will eventually have to get a good closed pair of HPs.

Being a HD 448 user, I'm really curious about the 449s...

Heya,

Can't we get a closed HD600 yet, Sennheiser?

I wonder if the 449's ear cups are as small as the 448's (and all the 4xx line)? The 4xx line wasn't very well built, felt like creaky toys. I hope the 449 is a response to all that and feels like a solid tank and not a cheap toy.

Very best,

The 449 looks good, is it an open can or closed can headphone?

Bought the hd449's over a week ago, I decided over a long period of research.
They are perfect, very similar to the 448's my friend has. The base is a little better than them in my opinion, 448s have quite a weak base.
The quality of the treble and upper range is great. Its a headphone good for all uses, 10/10. I have used a lot of headphones and I think Sennheiser did a great job with the 449s.
I highly recommend them.

Thanks for your input iEatedbutter. I am really happy sennheiser added some base to the 449s or is it just better base?, I love my 448s but honestly I would be even more happy with a little more bass quantity. The 449s may then become the budget closed can for lovers of neutral presentation. I may eventually replace my 448 with the 449s...but not any time soon, since the 449s are retailing for about €100 on Amazon.de!

Have you tried the bass mod for the 448 yet?
I have done it about a year ago and still the bass is very noticable in almost every genre of music.
