HD 212 Pro

First, to start off, I am a basshead. I love bass. Bass bass bass bass bass.

Okay, i baught the HD212's after much thinking and i picked them up Brand New for £25 from Play.Com

I though "for £25, where can you go wrong"
I recieved them 3 days later and at no-suprise, they were actually quite good. They delivered great bass, great sound quality and were easily driven by my laptop and ipod. Many people over the net gave a harsh review to a pair £25 headphones and to be honest; your not gonna get beyerdynamics dt-770 in a £25 pair of sennheisers but I'll tell you something; i am a huge fan of headphones and these definetly have a place in my desire for high bass and good sound quality.

1 downfall i descovered is the crackled highs but it's hardly noticable. I listen to RnB, rap, hip hop, dubstep and grime.

I love these headphones and I am definetly keeping these until im working so i can buy some DT-770's.

Onto the design; a nice feel to them, they look quite small but when your holding them and wearing them, they feel like full size headphones, cover your ears and are lightweight. both ear peices can slide off if you want to. Says sennheiser hd212 pro on each side which also gives a nice look.

Sound quality:
Pros - High bass, good sound, from low volume upwards causes noise cancellation from outside
Cons - People can hear your music while they are not on your head or if loud, can't fold for storage like skullcandys and beats, crackled highs but not affected much.

As you can see, the cons arent that bad at all and if you want a nice cheap pair of headphones with reasonable/good bass then definetly go for 212's. Play.Com are selling them for £25 and I can definetly rate them 5/5 for their smooth and quick transaction.

Maintenance:
Wires and earpeices and leather padding can be replaced.

Verdict:
Definetly the most well spent £25 ever. By the way, just to tell you; the sennheiser 212 pro's are not £25 headphones, they are £50 headphones but you can get them cheap off the internet. On eBay, the cheapest is £49 the last time i checked. These headphones = WOW. My music heaven. I can put these, turn on my iPod and zone out. Cannot hear anything from outside while listening.
If you have any questions then please ask and tell me if my review was good. Thanks :)

Thx for the review! I was considering these as well.

Quick question that is money related since I'm kinda new to it. 25 pounds are like 50 dollars right?
So if that's the case then if people from the UK come to the USA, they'll be like 2 times richer?

I used to have these.....I did not like them. I've heard of uncomfy headphones but those on ear Senn 212 Pro's actually hurt your ears to the point that it's actually painful! Also the bass is good but for me the Koss Porta Pro I found sounds equal in terms of bass if not better, very similar sounding, they're also much more comfortable that I can actually wear them and finally they are cheaper too.

Obviously as you say you won't get brilliant headphones cheap and the closest you might get are the PortaPro though how do you define brilliant and how do you define cheap - it's all relative. But you do get what you pay for generally speaking. And what lets down the Sennheiser HD 212pro is the comfort which shouldn't be called comfort level instead it should be called pain threshold because that's much more accurate lol.

Blacksushi, when the rate was 2.00 it would've been double. £25 is around what; $40 or less, the rate is only about 1.40 dollars to the pound but before when the credit wasn't 'crunched', we could've imported everything and became x2 richer, :)  Thommo, you are right there; I don't find them that un-comfortable but I do find that they heat up my ears to the extent that im sweating but due to the lack of noise isolation; i have them around my neck with the volume up so i can feel the bass vibrations and the sound.
