It's their patent so 3rd party companies need to pay for licensing to sell products using their patent. Basically, it's about money which Apple is known to launder (derogatory term for basically, greedy in this case) and might make it a thing. This rumour goes WAY BACK, never was a thing. They'd be stupid to do it and they'd be smart because iPhone lovers that obsess over lavish features of average quality will buy their marked up products.

People have long complained about the flimsy jack connection of PX 100 ii which usually dies at either end before long. I hope the new ones aren't as bad... 
 
Also, coming up with something like a wireless px100 ii would be dream-come-true for many people, I bet. It's high time Sennheiser considers making one like that. Other companies are picking up on this trend already.

Finaly! Sennheiser has a new series and it looks very promising. I own the HD 598 so I don't think I would get one of these but they are great for people new to Sennheiser. They also look fantastic!!!

  Praying that the HD-569 is a headphone for audiophiles, and nothing like the HD-630VB.

 
IMO the only thing wrong with the 630VB is the weight.  Its perfectly tuned - especially for audiophiles who like a balanced signature with the option of more bass if they like it.

Yeah something finally exciting from Sennheiser  I can actually afford ! Depending on price and reviews might get both the HD 569 and the HD 4.30

These all look great but it's a real shame that there is no all-black HD 599 SE. 
 
I've always hated the brown and tan colors of the HD 598 (and now the HD 599).

I own the ivory 598 and I like the new look of the ivory 599, except for that big, silver belt buckle covering the grills.  The headband appears to be of better build quality, judging from the pic, but will need to see one close up.  Glad to see they kept the soft, velour pads.
 
I wonder if these are mostly just cosmetic changes, or if the sound has improved.  Any idea about price point?
 
Senn's website says that the 3m cable will still have the 6.3mm connector, but also include a 1.2m cable with 3.5mm connector.  6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter included.  Wish they would've gone with a 3.5mm connector on the 3m cable and included a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter, instead.

Amazon Germany has them already listed. Statiing the release date as the 5th of october here in Germany.  Its 149€ for the HD 559, 179€ for the HD 569, 199€ for the HD 579 and 249€ for the HD 599.
