Brown filters should open up the soundstage a lot right?

Put it this way. If your soundstage is closed in, it's not the dampers. They will allow whatever your equipment can do. Soundstage really is more in the realm of MP3 vs 24/96 for example so be sure your sources are good and I think you'll love the browns.

Ok I will get the browns probably tomorrow. I just tried the white filters the first time. They are too bright... I hope the brown don't turn them into an even bigger treble monster.

The dampers arrived today and I listened to the brown for about 3 songs. The treble extends further than the white shure filter yet it retains the visceral slam of the blue filter.
Treble is definitely very bright and resolving( compressed music sounds bad now, with blue it was totally fine) but balance is much better than the white filter. The white filter should have been the brown damper.

Not to sound dense; after the filter is in, you then need to cut the length of the original filter length and then insert them as the q tip diameter is equal to the Shure?

Loving the brown filters over the modded blues. More top end for my old ears.

After trying out green and red, blue still sits on the throne. Blue sacrificies some treble enery, but it's ability to make every kind of music sound good is unmatched.

Hi guys,
just read some days ago about shure846 and damper mod.
Found this on ebay
https://www.ebay.it/itm/KNOWLES-DAM...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
asked to the seller if they are ok for 846 but no answer for now.
So maybe better if I ask you. are they ok? since from what I'm seeing, he's speaking about the brown type too.
Thank u
ciao!
