Congratulations Rob N! Don’t tell us you have not yet listened to it

Serious tubes you have there too. Not my taste though

Nice pics, Rob. It will be fuun to read your listening impressions as well once you settle into it.

A couple of quick questions:

1) What does the "Accent" label signify?

2) How is this amp different than a "standard issue" SDS-XRL?

3) I notice that there is only one single ended headphone jack. Was this by your choice? If I recall correctly, Hirsh's SDS-XRL had two.

(Note: This is not to imply that there is anything at all "standard" about these massive, gorgeous looking and sounding amps. I'm still buzzing over my brief listening session with Hirsch's SDS-XRL.)

Very nice, Rob. That middle pic that appears as if the amp is on one point (is it?) is amazing.

In addition to Wayne's questions, what headphones are you planning to drive balanced?

Looking forward to your impressions.

Nice! Thanks for the pics.
What kind of tube is that in the power supply?
TIA

Just guessing... but probably a 5u4g.

edit: looking closer.... that tip on the top of the tube does not look like a 5u4g.

1) Accent lighting on the 5U4G in the power supply. The recessed 5U4G has blue LED's illuminating it,looks good, not over the top

2) & 3) The 1/4 jack is wired to both sides of the amp,so therefore there is max. separation between channels, one input tube for left and one for right. The others were wired so that with the 1/4 jack you could use them with two different pairs of phones, those units also had two volume controls.I didn't want pre amp or loop out features.it does have two power cables to the main unit.

I have a pair of balanced PS-1's to use but I haven't got a balanced source yet

I am currently looking for one

Glod,I put six metalbases in to see what it looked like.I am actually using a pair of TS RP for input and a quad of Syl 6SN7GT 'bad boys' for output.

I probably get a pair of HP-2's converted to balanced as well as the PS-1's

Really, really a magnificent looking machine… I can’t wait till you will publish your first impressions.

It is the first, at least publicly known, valve rectified SDS-XLR, isn’t it? I wonder how it will fare against your SDS-T

Un-frigging-believably-cool! That's all I can say. Me and my little MPX3 will have to make do in the shadow of that duo. Enjoy, and, like everybody else said, please post some impressions when you can (using a single-ended source for now? please?). Cheers.
