I would love to try this Byggy out, but it is the most uncertain time to invest a significant amount of money (to me) for a FAR from known improvement in sound. The bells and whistles of FB really aren’t that enticing. It doesn’t make sense for me to trust the salesmen on this one. I wish my country was on firmer ground, but it just seems silly to try and justify this non-essential expense.

I am taking the far less expensive rout to try Schiit Audio's new take on DACs by picking up a Mimir to try out in 3 of my setups. My two current Schiit DACs are Yggdrasil+ MIB and Bifrost 2/64 (Bifrost will be getting an upgrade once available). It will be fun comparing it to the other DACs.

Byggy is going to have another sibling with a new gen of MB cards, but yeah it is a lot of money to put out. Everyone has to come to their own conclusion as to what they should or should not spend money on at the end of the day.

I have no doubt it will be fun.

For those with the famous Nervosa, I suggest going to one of the upcoming CanJams. I don't know for sure, but would expect that Schiit will be there with a Byggy.

I have to make it a point to attend the one in Texas eventually. We shall see if I make it over there next year with my Atrium Open in my travel case (if they will allow me to try my own pair on the setup). :L3000:

Now that more voices spoke let me add to my earlier posts. It’s likely that Biggy will be very good but at that a different flavor. At this point that expectation is solely based on statements by Schiit. Stoddard is a masterful marketer - he tells us to negate ‘nervosa’ while fanning its flames all along.
I wonder how many people realize Jason is a masterclass in marketing? People don't even realize he's doing it to them he's so good at it.

I went against my better judgement and booked a line in place for the upgrade. JUST IN CASE!

Looking at my setup now, I don't have anything left to upgrade. The only thing I can think of is getting the MIB module to replace the A1. Is it worth the upgrade? Any advantages with the MIB over the A1?

You already have a great streamer which should bolster the resolution and bass you will get with the MIB. Another obvious difference you would hear with MIB is the refinement in the texture where it's more refined and less "gritty". Lastly, black background is very obvious where the decay stops pitch black leading to the next initial attack to appear from a more silent background. On a subtle note, MIB is a slightly more relaxed presentation but doesn't necessary mean boring as it just tells you what your chain is actually providing and rolling power cord, yes power cord upgrade can make MIB have a livelier presentation without losing any of the great qualities with it such as refinement and ease of flow / liquid transients

I already use the iFi Supanova cable with an upgraded fuse which makes a big difference compared to a standard power cable so I can imagine it will do the same for MIB. Is the resolution and bass greater on MIB? Soundstage the same?
