…and you’re complaining about ME hoarding 5670s?
Well, the thing is I don't have many 5670's. So only fair to complain, right? 🤣 🤣

• Well, it looks as though Xuling Audio Lab (xulingmrs) -- a reputable, great source for adapters -- is off EBay / ceased (paused? 🙏) operations.
Looks like I got mine just in time! Thanks for the early heads up on this btw, I think you called it a few pages back in this discussion thread.

But if the Vali3 is like the V2, the distortion is what gives it a "tubey" sound. Therefore if you want it to sound more "tubey", use high gain.
They aren't alike.....

All these tube collections are inspiring...must choose another to mate with my 12AU7 > 5670 adapter now. Hmm, decisions...decisions... :money_with_wings:

• As for 12AU7 --> 5670 adapters for Vali 3, these show up on Ebay: IMG_8119.jpeg 😒 These look crappy, do not have seem to have the Xuling workmanship. Better call @Deyan !!

I still find I hard to believe. I hope it's nothing bad, judging from myself waking up to an empty inbox is such a horrible thing. She'll probably reopen soon, even though she's the competition I can't say I'm happy.

I pulled the trigger a few moments ago and decided to go with the JJ ECC82 / 12AU7 - GOLD tube next. It fit the budget and seems to offer a bit of a different tone than what I currently have. Variety is the spice of life, as they say! :notes:

Welcome to the Vali 3 club! Compared to the stock tube, the 63NP-DR has a sound approaching what you are looking for. I am still in the process of letting mine "mature" (~7 hours atm) but it immediately made a difference in the warmer, low end focus with more presence overall. There are a few reputable sellers on eBay selling them atm. Of course, that was just the tip of the ice berg in my future tube collection...so many more to try. Hope this helps! :beerchug:
How would you compare the sound of the 63NP-DR vs the GE 5670 5-STAR?
Which has more bass? I'm new to tube rolling, and I'm not really hearing any sonic differences between the stock tube and the GE 5670 5-STAR tube.
At first, I thought I heard more bottom end, but after a few minutes, it sounded the same as the stock tube. Makes me think that any differences are so minor that brain burn-in cancels them out within minutes.
At the end of the day, I have to defer to my own ears, and might not need to go down the tube-rolling path and just enjoy the Vali 3 and my headphones.
