I need to get a DR version someday. I have the EV version and it is so much better than the stock one.Welcome to the Vali 3 club! Compared to the stock tube, the 63NP-DR has a sound approaching what you are looking for. I am still in the process of letting mine "mature" (~7 hours atm) but it immediately made a difference in the warmer, low end focus with more presence overall. There are a few reputable sellers on eBay selling them atm. Of course, that was just the tip of the ice berg in my future tube collection...so many more to try. Hope this helps!

I was using the GE 5670 - 5 star in my Vali 3 with nice results, and just tried a Russian 6H3N-E five minutes ago…..got like 5 of them for $32 including shipping from ebay a month or so ago. Very surprised with the results. Right off the bat a bit sharper and richer in the treble and the bass more forward, but in a good way. As Dr. Horatio Beaker would say “Most satisfactory……….most satisfactory!” Dare I say I might be getting closer to the famed WE 396?

.... Raytheon CK 5670, Raytheon JAN 5670 ....Hi guys, just got my valli 3 a weak ago and I'm pleased with it. I want to start experimenting with some other tubes.
Any suggestions for some warm, lush, low end focused tubes for the valli 3?

• To Valiant Schiitheads: a 'high recommendation' tube for Vali 3:
• Sylvania 'yellow print, long plate' 12AU7.
• Length of long plates? 17 millimetres.
• Need 12AU7 --> 5670 adapter (Xuling).

Thanks @jonathan c! My question is how do I know A long plate vs. something else? The ones I've on-line don't identify that part of the build. Appreciate your thoughts!• To Valiant Schiitheads: a 'high recommendation' tube for Vali 3:

A few nights of listening and the Vali 3 is really starting to sound great! I was even able to use this WE396 that was too microphonic for my phonostage
Waterclocker, that is a stunning picture!

@jonathan c - Thanks for your tube recommendation. I bought the 12AU7 adapter you recommended and received a tube that I believe you recommended as well. I am listening to Amperex 12AU7 Long Plate Foil D-Getter from Holland 1958. It sounds clear, clean, with better sound staging than I anticipated, with all-around great timbre.
Thank you sir!

My Schiit Heretic is in trouble... I thought the Vali 3 sounded amazing with my Senn cans but I can't seem to pull my IEM's out of my ears because of how good they sound with this head amp. I am using the new 6N3P-DR tube (50+ hours) and it's breathing "life" into the music. This little mini mighty keeps on surprising me...
