Schiit Valhalla 3 - Impressions Thread

I had 2 JM Audio XTC-2 headphones. John is great at tuning headphones to your likings. I had the open and closed back. Sounded great but the headband comfort left a lot to be desired and wore me out to the point I sold them. I would still highly recommend them though as far as Sound goes. But JM really needs to look into what ZMF and others are doing with the headband and making a comfortable headphone to wear.

Hmm...I think he's updated the headband a couple times. Did yours look anything like this here or here?

It's been a year or so since I've had them but I think they were like the headbands in the video with William from the headphone experience. I think I'm just spoiled from the ZMF headbands. JM needs to get some better padding or a better headband that doesn't start to hurt the top of your head pretty fast. And let's not forget... this is a subjective opinion. The JM headband may be fine for others. It just wore me out over time with long listening sessions and gaming

I received my silver Valhalla 3 today — was sure to be home at the specific time for the signature-required FedEx delivery, which completed without a hitch.

But no tubes.

I've emailed Schiit, and I assume they will take care of it (they sent out a replacement for a buzzing power supply of a different unit previously).

Anyone else receive a Valhalla 3 with no tubes?

EDIT: How did your Valhalla 3 tubes come packed? In the box with the amp? In a separate shipping box? In a seperate box than the amp but same outer shipping box?

I don't think this has been asked before but on low gain how does the lowest volume with channels balance compared between the Valhalla 3 and the Vali 3?

I find with both my ZMF Bokehs that I don't have much wiggle room with the Vali 3 so if the lowest usable volume on the Valhalla 3 is higher then I think that will rule it out for me.

Wow... that's pretty inexcusable. Shame. That's like buying a headphone that comes without Pads on it or they forget to include the HP cable. Come on Schiit!! Do Better!!

Just like me, the volume knob on VH3 really does look better in person than in pictures.

imo its the colour, it just doesnt blend well on black but can be easily fixed.

We all going to pull a Vali 3 and knob roll the Valhalla 3.

I am sure more that one amongst us will do so, yet not I as I do not own a Grado HP. It will be good for me to know as well, as I plan to get a Grado HP eventually. Funny how I never picked one up as I was born and raised in Queens NY.
