Schiit Valhalla 3 - Impressions Thread

Hopefully someone can compare the Valhalla 3 with the LYR3 and tell us the main differences. I was going to get the V3... but pre ordered a Nintendo Switch 2 Bundle last week instead for $500!

Same here. I'm still probably getting a V3 at some point... but being an OG LYR3 owner I want to see some impressions of the Valhalla 3 first

I just ordered one and will be doing that comparison for you. My Lyr 3 has a Psvane tube in it but will compare it to the Valhalla 3 with stock tubes first. Also looking forward to tube rolling talk since I am not sure the same tubes that worked well in the V2 will do so in the very different V3.

This is reasonable point. While the tubes are the same as Valhalla 2, the differences between the OTL and OTL/OCL architecture and sound are noticeable (speaking as someone who has both the V2 and Folkvangr). I imagine in general the recommendations from V2 will work for V3, but they're different enough from each other that I'm sure we'll hear plenty of rolling recommendations that are unique to it.

AP already confirmed my 15 ohm Planar headphones will work, so I think you will be just fine. It has a switch for different loads.

I am just a Schiit Head and nothing more. Although I would not be apposed to the idea.

In the end Schiit Audio would just be subsidizing my Schiit purchases if that happened.
