Yes the dac upgrade would be worthwhile, but also adding tubes would further smooth things out and add more richness
Yeah perhaps true. I have my Feliks Echo Mk2 paired with a Cambridge Audio DacMagic 200M. Seems to be a good pairing.

Ah the rare "square dish".... how about 'square UFOs?'![]()
Or as I call it -- the pill foil getter.Ah the rare "square dish"
Oh yeah!Got mine back today, too. It's running in the bedroom now with the CV4033s (to keep my tests the same) and will switch to the CV-455s in a while. So far so good!
And that warning should just say "Caution: Hot!" since this thing is![]()

Got em running right now with some Brimar CV-455 tubes in the front. It sounds great!Anyone try the v3/hd800s combo. Just wondering how this pairing sounds? ty
Is the hd800s peaky on the v3? How is the bass response? tyGot em running right now with some Brimar CV-455 tubes in the front. It sounds great!
I received four Brimar CV-455s (as I think I mentioned above) this week, but unfortunately three of them have a bad hiss (one was totally silent) even with volume all the way down. I've reached out to Langrex to see what they say. Anyway, I like the CV4033 better than the stock tubes, so they're staying in for now.Got em running right now with some Brimar CV-455 tubes in the front. It sounds great!
