My Ragnarok is arriving next Thor's Day (how appropriate!), to pair with Yggy. Speakers only, unless you want to count a 30 year old pair of AKG 240's, but much Bliss is anticipated.

Hopefully Fed Ex will improve upon their 7:45 PM delivery of the HE1000s to me yesterday. Thought I was going to have cow.

If you have a cow make sure you have grass and plenty of room-a shovel is helpful!
How's the HE1000?

They have two hours to beat yesterdays performance benchmark, but I am less than optimistic. Plus I'll need an hour to breakdown and reconfigure my system, which will be good in the long run but "the waiting is the hardest part."

Thanks for the suggestion. I've gone ahead and switched them. It is still quite hot to the touch on the front and hard to notice any difference. Hopefully my unit is not defective and is operating within normal expected temperature behavior.

If you have the vertical room, I would recommend looking at something like the Herbie's Audio Lab Tenderfeet (taller the better?) to put under the Rag and further elevate it from the Yggy. Not only do you get increased ventilation, but you also get any further benefits from vibration dampening.

Really, really good, having trouble seeing how somebody could prefer the HD800 or He 6. Unfortunately this means I need to sell my 560s and Zgrados to pay for the darn thing!

Ah dang, I was afraid of that. Perhaps I should AVOID Head Fi meets!

Oh that new Rag of yours would sound really, really good with the HEKs!!!

Shhhhhh. It sounds really good with the HE-560's. I already spent a Bazillion this year. Zero to 60 in 5 months. :) Next year though….
