For a stunning symphony orchestra in a command performance rendition of Beethoven’s ninth:

Where the Modi Multibit 2 shows what it’s capable of. For me it was total involvement.

I listened to this with the mm2 feeding a Freya S, and a Vidar 2 driving a pair of large Maggies in a large room.

And this is the outcome of a Youtube limited stream… Very pleased with Schiit Audio electronics’ transparency and Mike Moffat’s precise signal reconstruction of band-limited digital streams. Kudos!

I didn't get around to testing the MMB2s with either of my speaker setups (KEF LS50 Meta bookshelf or Dali Oberon 9 floorstanders) before I had to hit the road, but I definitely plan on doing that when I get home next. Is the MMB2 now your primary DAC for your speaker rig?

I've been going back and forth between my Asgard 3 and Vali 2++ with the mm2. Source is my Audiolab transport and using a pair of HD600 headphones. This morning I decided to start using my Drop THX789 to see how the mm2 paired with it. My first selection was Lowell George's solo album, Thanks I'll Eat it Here. This CD is a long out of print German CD and it's a well recorded and mastered album. The mm2 and THX789 really have good synergy. This album has songs that run through a wide range of styles. Horns, strings, piano, all sounded true to life. I was really impressed with the acoustic guitars. The mm2 comes through again.

I just ordered this yesterday and chose the cheapest Fedex delivery option and just got my MMB2 delivered! It’s raining here today and the box is a little wet. I hope it’s good and safe. One of the rca cables arrived but I’m still waiting on the usb-c cable before i can plug this in and test it out. I could also just use one of my usb-c to usb-a cables Also, do you stack same sized Schiit amp and dac or so you place them side by side? I don’t know if you need a special mount to stack them

Wow! Talk about a quick turnaround huh? Happy listening!

Yes, Schiit MMB2 is my main DAC. Others may be minutely analyzed and considered better in one area or another, but when this one lets me listen to the music, for long periods of time without fatigue, with a natural presentation and excellent separation of players, I think that's it.

It replaces an iFi micro iDSD, used on my computer desk for occasional listening with the original (pristine) Joseph Grado Signature HP2 headphones.

thanks! are the entry level schiit amps and dacs meant to be stacked as is or our side by side unless you have some type of stacking mount?

Either way. If you stack it, put the DAC on the bottom and the amp on the top. When I use my MMB2 with my Magni 3+ I stack them with the MMB2 on the bottom and the 3+ on the top just like that. Amos generally run hotter and need to dissipate more heat so they generally need to be on top for better ventilation. Plus, it makes the knob/easier to adjust when it's on top, IMO.

so i’ve tried holding down the button on the mmb2 and i can tell something changes, but i don’t know how to tell if i have NOS mode on or off. unless when 2 of the 3 lights are pulsing, that means it is in NOS mode. the owner’s manual doesn’t mention NOS mode

so far the only thing i’m noticing different is that the volume is slightly louder when kept at the same setting as when i was just running the Magni+. that being said, everything sounds great. same as before. maybe a testament to the Magni+ being a remarkable little amp. I’m supposed to get a Magni Piety today and I’m so hyped for trying it paired with the mmb2. i love the HD600s so much as a headphone. comfort, tonal qualities on most genres of music. the combination of these products is a beautiful dance. it’s interesting that i enjoyed the headphones possibly just as much with just an amp and my laptop. i’m sure as i study this more i will hear what the mmb2 brings.

I agree with @ssmith3046 . You have to let it warm up so it reaches its stable performance temperature which can take a bit for sure. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what quality source files are you using?
