Guys, how can I reduce the sibilance on the MJ3, even if it's light (but still annoying)
Which headphones are you using? I doubt it’s the Pontus

See, that's the thing...my guess is if someone who's running the Pontus into the Mjolnir is complaining about sibilance, it's either the music or the headphone that is causing it to be an audible problem. I know what I'd choose to swap out in this case. I suppose swapping out the amp for something else would do, but honestly, at this level of fidelity, it's probably not the amp (though it could be a quirk in the pairing, hard to say without knowing all the equipment for sure).

Sell it and buy a Mentor...

Im teasing but also not. Not poopooing Mjolnir, though, more just gassing up Mentor- which is fair and it's worthy. Costs a little more than MJ3 but not significantly. Synergy with a Pontus II >> Meze Elite via Mentor would be there.

I use a Meze Elite headset which hasn't given me any problems before.
What amp were you using with the Pontus 2 before the Mj3 and did that setup had any sibilance?

MJ3 need 100 hrs + burn in. The DAC is also a possible issue. I had the same sibilance problem until the burn in time was reached.

A cheaper and quicker fix is to preamp with a tube amp into the MJ3. Get the 99 dollar version Schiit is putting on sale.

second the tube pre-amp idea.
