Everything from the responses you’ve received falls in line with what i believe to be true. If your looking for an amp to hold onto for a good while, the S17 pro isn’t it, it’s a wonderful amp, full, warm, and can be pretty spacious as well…but the problems with the S17 pro (atleast when i had one) was mainly the heat issue. Also, the S17 pro’s sound can be too much of a good thing at times. It’s engaging and a bit forgiving, so if your into that then feel free to save some money and pass on the MJ3.Quick question from a person who is still thinking about buying
How big is the improvement in details, stage, and other characteristics? is it a significant improvement, noticeable improvement, or barely noticeable improvement? I'm 2 weeks away from ordering S17 pro or another 6 from ordering mjolnir and I'm not completely sure whether doubling the price and extra month of wait are justified. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any direct comparison except "Yep it's better" and I cannot listen to either of them before ordering
will be very grateful for any comparison
@Currawong , maybe you can shed some light on my dilemma, please.
Now on the other side, the MJ3 can pretty much do it all, but as the others stated, it’s really picky. It scales like nothing else in its price range. Also, it’s offers a much more life like presentation. It will tell you if something is great, and when something isn’t so great. It’s the amp to have over a long period of time, and you won’t have to worry about a MJ4 for quite a while, not that you will with the S17 (Aune are good folks in that regard as well). Beware, i was happy with my Bifrost 2/64 untill i got the MJ3 lol now im itching for a yggy.
