The main issue is that the impedance is 2 Ohms, which nearly shorting the amp. They are extremely sensitive, over 100db/mW, so they don't actually require much power at all. The only need 50mW to reach 120 dB. They are amazing out of a good speaker amp with the gain turned right down.@Currawong idk how I never knew of Audeze LCD-R before but those are some interesting cans! And I absolutely love the choice of Lichtenberg; it's beautiful.
I'm curious how it's pairing with MJ3 since it's supposed to be run from that custom Jot.

The Mass Kobo is ¥770,000 (or $5085.33 according to google, today). I would hope it improves on the MJ3 at 4x the price ($1299 in silver)....
Just ask anyone who listened to the MJ3 and to the Mass Kobo. The Mass Kobo wins hands down on all aspect. As for the Flux, it wins in quiet background, clarity, and soundstage. The MJ3 does have a small sound in the background during playback that most won’t notice unless listening carefully.
The Flux, is it more price competitive?

he's probably talking about the Mass Kobo 465, that's about $17k usd, of course it's going to sound better than the MJ3The Mass Kobo is ¥770,000 (or $5085.33 according to google, today). I would hope it improves on the MJ3 at 4x the price ($1299 in silver).

Keep an eye on them and maybe report back in a couple of months if anything changes, otherwise, don't worry and enjoy your great amp.Mine, are good.

Unfortunately I haven’t heard the 17K mass kobo. However, the description Mass Kobo is getting is what I hear from the Dual Mentor setup.
I was very pleasantly surprised of the sound. Strangely, it made my cheaper headphones like the starry night and MoonDrop para so much better than before. Those two in particular sounded a bit muffled and weak on the MJ3 but amazing on the Mentor dual.

Sold out or I'd give it a shot.Flux is $1,299 as well and it’s punching far above its price point.
Overwhelmed might be a more apt term in this case.More detail isn't fatiguing. More distortion is. When you have genuinely more detail, it is less fatiguing, as types of distortion that actually mask detail aren't there.

After comparing MJ3 to multiple amps now I've found it's signature to be noticably darker in the treble region with a sub bass emphasis. MJ3 also has a "smoothed" sound that I'm not sure I've heard in any other amp. It doesn't lack resolution or detail it just lacks any edge to the sound. I think a lot of people will find other amps to be "faster" and "tighter" sounding in comparison to MJ3, but I believe its MJ3's coloration not it's ability. Definitely not for everyone and I'm not even sure it fits my preference, but in Schiit's pursuit of making digital audio "not sound like ass" I think it's a pretty fantastic addition to the catalog. Outside of tubes it's one of the most unique amps I've heard.I was very pleasantly surprised of the sound. Strangely, it made my cheaper headphones like the starry night and MoonDrop para so much better than before. Those two in particular sounded a bit muffled and weak on the MJ3 but amazing on the Mentor dual.

nope they are sold out right now.Sold out? I think they are still on sale.
They went fast!
I figure they'll make more but who knows with the war and all. They aren't showing the M-Field at all, the Mentor singles and stacks say sold out (after you populate the fields) , the Volot is sold out. So they literally have no products for sale right now.
I hope they are all ok.

I recently saw on the news that their city got hit by a few missiles at the industrial complex area. As of yesterday they were still talking to me, though. Hopefully everyone there is safe.nope they are sold out right now.

I'm gonna ask if your premise is correct. I suspect that the other amps get just as hot when they are actually running at the same wattage. I could be totally wrong though. Now that this topic of real true Class A output has cone up, I was also curious how other amps can get double digit wattage output per channel and not get hot like MJ3.
