The time is 11.30 PM Aussie time.
I wanted to document my experience as a passionate music lover novice wannabe Audiophile.
Recently I put and order in for a new set of cans and an accompanying head amp to match. I needed something that I could use to adapt and mish mash with my current setup, see Signature.

After some research on Head Fi, I came across alot of articles and discourse about the Lyr brand name and the Lyr Schiit. Being relative new, I also heard about the word HiFiMAN being tossed around. Anyhow 2 wks into some cerebral reading, I decided to pull the trigger on a combo as kind of a birthday present to self...

My WishList to purchase:
- HiFiMAN HE-500
- Lyr Schiit

Anyhow soon the orders arrive and I received both the amp and headphone. I must confess all in all the shipping for the HE-500 was super fast from Head Direct. Fed Ex fast. Equally the shipping of the Schiit Lyr from my local distributor http://www.i-enjoy.com.au/ in Sydney, Australia.

Like a kid in a candy store, I was so excited to unbox and hook up. I don't have a super fancy setup, just an eclectic taste in music and alot of passion. I soon discovered alot of crackling and hiss from the Schiit. Excuse my ignorance when I posted the thread http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/556506/schiit-lyr-crackle. I don't know enough yet about Tube Amps so wasn't akin to the experience of hearing such noises.

Throughout the whole process I contacted Nelson Ng from http://www.i-enjoy.com.au/ and Jason Stoddard from Lyr Schiit. They assisted me in proposing tests I should try and ascertain what and were the problem could stem from. I was thoroughly impressed and grateful for the assistance and timely responses. I went to sleep and got emails when I woke up the next morning. It was determined that the Lyr Schiit tubes were noisy and needed to be replaced. Jason suggested I contact Nelson. I did so, and throughout the process Nelson and his wife were immensely helpful providing timely email feedback as well as sms. Nelson called me this morning to arrange for a replacement to take place. He even made the effort as to visit me to deliver the replacement Schiit tubes in person. I can't thank him enough for the customer service and support exhibited. In this day and ages of mass consumer audio, it in itself being a niche market, I found such qualities golden and hard to come by. Both Jason and Nelson run a tight ship and this made the experience of purchase and support very assuring.

I would like to vouch for Jason Stoddard and Nelson Ng (http://www.i-enjoy.com.au/). I will be considering purchasing from them without hesitation. I wish you guys the best of luck. Your business model is engaging. I hope the Lyr Schiit brands soars. For any Aussies out there, please check out http://www.i-enjoy.com.au be persuaded to try something different. Coming from a client service and support background, I can say such qualities are sometimes hard to come by these days...Both these gentleman have it.

Now, back to listening...I hear the fidelity...

Cheers,
HF
