Schiit Lokius Impressions & Reviews

That Amir guy....yeesh...There's so much to unpack here...
If you filter all his subjective opinion, there's quite useful information in the graphs. I think the frequency distribution among the knobs is worth knowing.

what does he mean by "older version had fun dancing LEDs"?

edit: this line is also objectively false

the last control didn't do much for me as I cranked it up but lowering it did cut out the highs.

unless he's short of hearing or has broken headphones, but in that case he shouldn't be telling people not to use this for headphones

Yeah ASR reviews are always useless.
The measurements are nice to have though

He is referring to old school equalisers. The things were everywhere back in the 80's. Many of them had LEDs on the sliders. Such devices are still available in pro audio circles.

It would be interesting to me to see EQ "charts" for the Lokius. Like the Oratory stuff or what have you on: GitHub - jaakkopasanen/AutoEq: Automatic headphone equalization from frequency responses
I don't think I've ever changed the 400Hz knob. Even on the Loki, I rarely use it. Love the addition of the 120Hz on the Lokius.
Same. The 20Hz, 2 KHz, and 6 KHz see the most action, and the 120 Hz was the deal-sealer for me since that allows me to cut right where my desk speakers have their midbass hump.

Got mine today, I wanted something that could let me play with EQ without turning off Exclusive Mode on my PC. On my HE6SEs, I've cranked the 120Hz to max and pushed the 2kHz to about 3 o'clock. I like the result. Tried boosting the sub-bass with the 20Hz knob, but meh.

Here's a curiosity; I was switching the knobs on my 2 Lokius and discovered the black and silver knobs are a different diameter.

That is indeed odd. Those silver knobs don't look like those shown in the pictures on their website - are those the ones that came on it?

Yep, all stock. I've got Loki's and Loki +'s, I'll dig them out and see what's on them. They all fit the shafts fine but if I hadn't swapped them out I'd have never known. The smaller diameter ones are easier for my big fingers to manipulate so this not complaint just an observation.

Maybe just an optical thingy, but the photos of the black and silver versions on the website seem to have different sized knobs. Note the recessed areas.

I think it's a bit of an illusion and they're the same, but in his picture there appears to be zero room around the silver knobs. That's definitely different from Schiit's pictures, as are the big black dots.

Those above shots are from Schiit's website, I used the snipping tool.
