It's been a while since I've had Timothy Taylor's Landlord, but it's a lovely beer. I miss the Shepherd Neame Spitfire from back home. Have found it here once. Fortunately some of the local breweries here in Pittsburgh do some excellent English Pale Ales. Milds and ESBs. And I can still find Old Speckled Hen and even Fuller's on tap here sometimes.

When well kept, Landlord is a superb pint.

My oldest friend lives in Kent, so he's quite partial to a pint of 'Sheps'.
Shepherd Neame is the oldest brewer in the UK.

It sounds like you get a pretty good selection in Pittsburgh.

I am a big fan of Fuller's but in my experience it is very rare to get a really good pint outside London.

The best beer in my area is Draught Bass. It is fantastic!

I've only rolled in the Genalex 6922 (Cryo) so far. While I've not been a huge fan of these initially (not bad --just not living up to the hype, IMHO), I am really loving them in the VH3. So far I've done my listening via HD6XX cans, but the sound is mesmerizing. The VH3 just sounds relaxed, easy, and unstrained while delivering a spacious soundstage with air and seemingly precise instrument location (I wasn't there when recorded so I cannot say with certainty. ). Bass is nice and extended yet controlled at highest gain (no feedback). The 6N1Ps sounded a bit fat and plodding on the bottom-end with those same settings and HP but were improved by switching to high gain (with feedback).

It's really hard to do any critical listening because I get too involved in the music and its delivery via this mini FV. That's a good thing, right?? VH2 never really drew me in like this with VH2 sounding more SS than VH3 does. VH3 lets me hear more of each tube's character/flavor it seems.

I'll know and report more with time. Giving the amp a bit of time to run-in first. Fun times ahead!!!

Papa’s hired me to train the bar staff on a new cruise ship on the product. Got paid to fly to Miami, spend three days on the boat during their final training run and teach two, one hour sessions.

Was a pretty good gig.

Ah, it's that OTL/OCL magic. From what you're describing it definitely sounds like Valhalla 3 has some Folkvangr in its genes. As much as I liked Valhalla 2 on 300 ohm Senns (with better NOS tubes), and Vali 3 now, Folkvangr is by far the best sounding tube amp which Schiit has made. (It's not even close, imho.) If Valhalla 3 comes near to it, at less than one-third Folkvangr's cost, that's darn impressive. Can't wait for more impressions as the amp runs in.

@ArmchairPhilosopher Playing Tourist on headphones now. I listened to it a ton in the same time frame as you. Classic of the genre.

@Bowmoreman Happy Birthday. (I won't try to resurrect my 7th grade German language skills here. Ha!) Good luck getting the beds in before the thunderstorms!

Little excitement this morning, btw. Took my bike out for a little test ride just after sunrise this morning after spending the past week tuning it up in the basement. Two miles from my house a black bear erupted from the ditch on the side of the road a dozen feet ahead of me (he'd been hidden in the very tall grass) and sprinted across the road. Thankfully I had time to avoid it and he didn't pay any attention to me.

Needless to say the heart rate monitor on my cycling computer registered a brief yet significant spike.
