Sure - although I do own some DXD files. That said, not about that really...
Basically I am trying to get a feeling of how soon a revision might come so I get that instead.
Like I said, I would hate it to get it, only for an updated model coming out pretty soon after that.
I got the idea that the new capability in the Gugnir 2 might mean revisions are coming. I suspect though that the first one to be updated might be the Bifrost, then the Yggy.
I know, trying to read the tea leaves here, but maybe people paying attention to those things might offer an educated guess. It happened to me already... got a Galaxy S23 only days before the S24 came out, just because I wasn't paying attention...
Thanks to the awesome support from the Schiit team (special call out to Lindsay!), I am getting Karl back tomorrow. They’re even putting my Stjärna FB extender dongle thingy in with it.
Looking forward to likely another cold, wet, grey New England early spring weekend listening to tunes again! Karl is going to look good on top of Stjärna (with a shelf in between) and then stacked with the Nikko Tuner and the Cambridge disc player/transport. All in black. Yggy remains silver, but since he’s OG with no remote, he can be hidden away so as to not spoil the visuals… LOL
Quick comment before I begin my work day. For those who dig the sound of vibraphones and marimbas check out Prime Directive, Not for Nuthin', and Extended Play-Live at Birdland by the Dave Holland Quintet. Exceptional.
And, while I certainly understand the disappointment of buying something just before it's upgraded, well, if you wait and wait for something and never pull the trigger because of upgrade-fear paralysis, you won't ever get to enjoy it. Life is fleeting and fragile and gone all too quickly. I say make the purchase whenever it makes sense to you and not worry too much about missing the latest-and-greatest. Enjoy the music.
I posted in the Mjolnir 3 thread already, but I am trying out the WBC Pro Quad XLR interconnects in my main chain. I will report back, after I have lived with them for a while. It is their first inhouse cable design.
If I won the judgement, you would be forced to eat bbq with bbq sauce and hotdogs with ketchup, all while listening to rush.... and the tragically hip, for good measure.....
I went to a Rush concert in the 80's. Did not stay. One of the worst shows I've ever seen, very much like ketchup. And the music was, to me, boring, very much like sugary ketchup. I know lots of people like them and good for them. I am just not one of those.

This is exactly what I do and it's really not a pain. 15-20 seconds and done. Like anything done often, it becomes normal and you really don't think about it.
Given the differences between headphones (transducers) and db output for a given volume setting, I can't think of a simpler method.
I'm still looping Sturgill Simpson's The Dead Don't Die. Has it been about a week? Does that make me a bad person?
In other news my right channel went out again. I was able to get it back by wiggling and reseating things. My current theory is something loose inside the preamp.
Breaking in with coffee talk as I am posting from page 12144. For the bean buyers, are your pound bags actually 16oz or are they the currently ubiquitious 12oz “pound”?
