Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Same here.
We decorate the Schiit out of our great room where the big rig is.
Sad when it all comes down.***

7 months to go...
*** leave the tree up: decorate it by the holiday / occasion (Easter, Cinco de Mayo, July Fourth ... 🤷🏻‍♂️)

He literally showed before and after measurements. Hard to say that's made up data ... because I'll never be able to treat a room with aftermarket panels and whatnot, ...
Data can be misleading (e.g. changing the scale from one measurement to the next, using the wrong type of mic settings, incorrect FFT parameters). Not that Darko would do any of that intentionally -- mistakes happen. Poster child for those kind of mistakes is ASR 🙃

You can, totally, do a room like this, right? (I wish, 'tho I don't know that that room is kosher):

(from https://www.acousticfields.com/two-channel-listening-room/)

Now, why? It's not a very friendly room, right? I think those "old" weird silent iPod parties are more "social" than that room.

P.S. Whenever I'm in a heavily treated room, my ears begin to hurt. What's with that? Even happened a little with a cloud absorber I made.

So you like your jazz a little bit on the blues/soul side? Well, look no more. Saxophonist Lou Donaldson delivers one of his best efforts with this 1957 album.

Tonight's Jazz recommendation is...

Back to Vali 3, for a moment ....

.... the venerated and inexpensive RCA 'clear top' (and long plate) 12AU7 is a wonderful tube here! [I feel that the soundstaging betters that even of WE 396A / JW 2C51. 😲]

I may have just given one away but I should have more. Friends in my audio group are starting to accumulate more and more so there may be a comparison one day. I am starting to think Vali 3’d would be fine or 12AU7 to 6SN7 adapters in other amps, or maybe even Bottlehead Cracks with serious modifications. 🤪

I'd happily rock a Dia De Los Muertos tree all year long!

Experience is data. Chill dude.
Then why did you ask for data when he merely shared his experience? Whatever, this is the internet...:deadhorse:

Weirdly for this group (as people here are overwhelmingly helpful and courteous), all of the negative responses I've read so far regarding room treatments have seemed more 'anti-Darko' than being valid arguments offering substantive reasons - with experiential data - for disagreeing with him, and that just seems odd. I totally get someone not liking the man or his content, but arguments for or against a thing usually offer more than just blanket-statement disagreements, which is all I've seen so far against the topic of room treatments.
