I’m poking at the Dual 1019 and it’s not looking too bad, except the platter has delaminated. Also, it runs fast, too fast, so I have to figure that out.

But the Shure M75ED Type 2 cartridge needs a new needle, so I’ve been going through all my drawers of tiny turntable parts from former spinners (I found a main bearing for a Transcriptors TT I don’t even remember owning) in case there’s a replacement stylus in there, and I came across paperwork for a W-T-F gadget I still own. The part that caught my eye was how proud they were to be American made and their 5-year warranty. Sound familiar?

Still LOVING my Vali 3. What a freakin' deal this thing is. Rolled out my WE396A and rolled in the Foton 6N3P Triple Mica for a spin. Not prepared to say which I like better, but I'm not hating it. Next will be the Tung-sol smoked glass 2C51 if I can remember where the hell I put it! :D

** If you haven't gotten one yet, hurry before Jason realizes what a stinking great little amp this is and raises the price!!

If you happened to sit on it the last time it was lit up, I can suggest somewhere it might be.

... Here is a screenshot of the spectral analysis. Do you think this is Hi-Res?
What did you use to generate that? Using the spectrum analyzer in Audacity, my vinyl rips look better.

Also, the "high res" standard sometimes allow for upsampling. I know Mark Waldrep has issues with that so called standard.

Finally! Scientific proof that vinyl sounds better than digital! :D

Why would you want that time back?! You now know that it's not for you. That's a lot of personal growth for 3:06! 😜
Yeah, it only took me about 30s. Now, if it was Jim Henson maybe I would have toughed it out.

I didn't want to post a 2nd recommendation, but I gotta post this one. 'The Jazz Crusaders' first album released in 1961. GREAT recording and excellent music from these Houston, Texas men.

And in case you didn't notice, it's in STEREO.

There's a video on youtube (duh) that shows/explains how vinyl and CD are "equivalent" quality. Very nicely done.

There's another explanation that says if everything is "right" vinyl can deliver 14bits of dynamic range up to 70KHz; only on a first play, sadly.

Would love digital that offered 70Khz - my dogs keep telling me that all my music lacks a fair amount of "air;" -- dunno what they mean by that.

...I was looking for this song in high resolution, because on the official CD, which must comply with the redbook standard, this song is converted from Mp3. ....
You make me wonder: what if the artist created it in MP3? There's no possible hi res version of it in that case.
