Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Any DAC I've ever switched discrete opamps into (like Sparkos) improved noticeably in sound.

I have an old ADCOM GDA-600 PCM63 based DAC here that I rebuilt and swapped in Sparkos opamps. The thing is sublime and only my Yggdrasil OG A2 beats it - not so much on enjoyment, but the Yggy just does better with instrument placement and sound stage.

It just makes me wonder how much better MIB could sound with such devices. 😁

Some more PCM63 fun, it's been awhile...

Decided to update the Adcom GDA-600 to 24/96 => Very close, need the final filter chip.

@belgiangenius Which sparkos are you using?

Thank you! That is quite loverly. I shall show this to my brother and if he likes it, it shall be ordered for him!
But...I can not make out the part #s!

Looked at psvane 6SN7-BE 6SN7-UK 811A. Yes, I am a ignorant of the glories of tubes and I like them for their physical beauty but am clueless about what works with or as what!

ORT

Not so secretly (now), I agree with you ORT. My tinnitus damaged hearing will always keep me from the maximum benefit of any gear, so I turn to the beauty of it too. And I grew up where the cool stuff had VU meters and have always loved them. Thankfully Schiit made EQ / tone controls cool again, so that is now possible. I long for a Schiit VU but understand that market won't (wait for it....) move the needle much.

Yah, it's got to be beautiful sound and looks for me :)

The one with the silvery insides is the 6SN7-SE. The blue one is the 6SN7-BE. Both available from several online sellers. I have not heard either of these so can't comment on their sonics, only their light bulb shape. 🤣 Both are electrically 6SN7's, so will work in any of the Vali versions with the proper adapter.
I have and like the SE. one of the better current production 6SN7s. Best Psvane is the CV181 T II.

Today I am working with ambrosia maple, the finished product is a set of miniature radial speakers that many here use with either the Rekkr or Gjallarhorn amps.

The original Dreamland. Ribs, sauce, bread. No sides, don't even ask.
Yes! I was trying to remember the name but truth be told names have always been a bitch for me. Numbers, sure; names, not-so-much.

Is there a tube that looks like a classic light bulb and it fits in the new Vali 3? I doubt it. I cannot even convince my self to buy this 'phone amp for my brother that collects tube guitar amps (he also plays) as it does not yet look cool enough to me.

Still waitin' fo' dat dere Valhallkyrie 3 wit sumthin' spacial...'n' Schiit. If I had mah druthers it would be jes dat. Scheeeeeeiit!

LOL, but no, no, no! I can't believe everyone keeps getting this wrong. I negotiated on double-wall cardboard! Only! I try to emulate Schiit by using only high quality 'board without resorting to expensive 'jewelry' like triple-wall that adds exponentially to the cost while doing nothing to enhance the sound strength. Please make a note of this. 🤣
Maybe my internet brain was adjusting for inflation or something. Got it now.

Double-walled cardboard, triple-mica tubes, single malt whisky and mushroom lattes with a twist of fungus. :yum:

Well if you insist, Rowan's Creek or Noah's mill would be wonderful if you mean for me lol. If you are talking about yourself definitely go for the Rowan's Creek if you have not tried it. @bcowen just received his mini rack and hopefully @artur9 will get his mini before the day is done. Those are not the best Glencairn glasses but at least you have something to occupy the slots on one side.
