In rather unsettling news today, I was informed that the large walk-in closets in the new audio room were NOT mine. The room itself is mine, and I have successfully fended off several attempts at encroachment. But apparently I am only entitled to one of the two closets. "That is not OK" were her exact words after she discovered audio stuff in both, and my response of "But honey, we are in OK" was not received with the humor intended. Does anyone else run into these seemingly insurmountable challenges in married life?
I do not stick with one build for very long so indeed fewer flight boards will be made. In honor of the Vali 3 coming out I figured mini racks might be fun for a couple people. I will have the walnut version to give away soon then most likely I will then go on to other things. Personally I enjoy the talk of music, cars, whiskey, food, pets, tubes etc. and they are topics that seem to interest a lot of people and keeps this thread very active. The humor is a big attraction as well as the camaraderie.
I do like that it is active here. As someone else mentioned not long ago, (I'll never find it) better than than those hardly active forums.
And someone always seems ready with advice, very helpful as I dust the cobwebs off my music hobby.
I've appreciated the tube conversations recently . I don't have much experience, other than listening to tube equipment in an audio store (liked what I heard).
wow, a lot to learn though...
But Sonora (born 3/21 afternoon) is my very first grandchild. Kudos to Southwest Airlines who gave my son ability to pause his training so he could be there. Mom and baby doing fine. We had a 90 minute face time video call later that night, and she’s the chillest baby… (doesn’t take after her dad).
Does anyone have any idea what the backlog is like right now? I got added to the list about 2 months ago, figured it would be something like a year or more if he's only making a couple pairs per month (if that)...!
He (and it is only 'he') makes them in batches of about 5 at a time, and then goes on to make a batch of something else. So Nitsche Sound is not a high volume producer.
I'm not known for my patience, but I like to support small, quality dedicated efforts like this. After all, he does bring us the piety. And who knows, once upon a time Schiit was a garage operation. So for this product (JAR600 headphones) I'm willing to wait.
Final assembly tomorrow, the top piece is removable to allow for a Vali. Tomorrow I also hope to carve out a portion of a flight board for um, recreational use?
