There's no reason why you cannot look to @sam6550a for advice and continue looking to @Paladin79 for handouts. :stuck_out_tongue:
lol Bill did come through with some fine bourbon, I did open the package with some trepidation though. Belvedere does make vodka.

So I've been rotating through the different free trials on the streaming sites and today marks day 1 of Qobuz.

I gotta say that it sounds the best off the rip I think!

About as good as the storage space she wants me to rent so I can pay monthly to store a bunch of stuff we'll never use or have a need for again. 🤣
That is what dumpsters are for. However, if you have any of those nasty GE 6550A valves, I could haul them off for you.

I suspect @sam6550a helped him pick it out, but Bill being the 'frugal' type may have gone a different route. You might want to have the royal taster give it a try before you bestow your accolades. I suspect it is really a Chinese forgery. :D

Wholeheartedly agree. And I think it is also the wide variety of topics and experiences and anecdotes that keep it fun and interesting. As @artur9 noted, there are component-specific threads on Head-Fi for (probably) everything Schiit has ever made that are more focused. But none of them as enjoyable and none I look forward to reading as much as this one.
Wait! You READ this thread?! Thought your MO was WRITE-ONLY. Oh man... Read and Respond? Sounds like work. 🤣

I recall having a teacher named Miss Fox. When she got married we all still called her Miss Fox. She was quite beautiful. To keep it on topic as requested by a new member, Miss Fox was The Schiit. Made in America with quality parts and engineering.

Aye!

Didn’t really need it, but I ordered a Vali 2++ at the discounted price. I did some listening at the Schiitr a while back and really liked sound of the Vali 2++ over the Valhalla. The Valhalla sounds great and I might be tempted to get the current or next version at some point, but what I am looking for is something that sounds VERY tubey. Beethoven’s 9th sounded really delicious on it. I suppose I could have gone with a Vali 3 (It wasn’t available then) but I don’t want something that is too “improved” to the point where I’m not getting the sound I was hearing on the 2++. (I’ll listen to the 3 next time I run up to Newhall)
