I did a fairly complete restoration once I got it going, fusible resistors were drifting in value. One of the best sounding Sansuis ever (once restored)

Really like Donald Fagen's version of Ruby Baby from his 1982 The Night Fly Album.
Mine was a '75.My little brother had a 73 Gremlin that he yanked the motor out of and wedged in a 327 out of a Chevelle. Talk about unstable and uncontrollable, but it was fast for a few hundred yards. He wrapped that thing around a telephone pole and almost didn't survive. Then he bought a Javelin and flipped that into a ditch on a highway, also barely walking away. My brother had bad teenage car karma.
Tons of wonky caps in those too.I did a fairly complete restoration once I got it going, fusible resistors were drifting in value.
He survived and recovered, but thanks. He was just a bit of a gearhead idiot.Mine was a '75.
So sorry about your brother.
Brad (the owner) was Brandy's boss before she was my boss, so his values are definitely in alignment because that's where they originated - he ain't gonna let that quality slip! He's just never really been my boss, in a direct sense. That'll be interesting.Good luck on the transition. At least the owner has been around and knows you and the business. Hopefully, no big policy changes, at least for a while. I worked thru several transitions and, if the "shared" values aren't there, it can be disruptive. IME, don't let the quality of the incoming nor finished products slip. Those aspects of the business are highly valuable and define your process and your brand.
Qobuz is wonderful. I left Tidal a year ago, before their exodus from MQA started. Try them both - I believe that both have 30 day trials. I currently favor Qobuz in terms of sound quality. Subscribe for a year lump sum payment and it's a bargain. Best of luck!Yup. I started planning in late 2023 for a “Year of Audio” for 2024. Starting with headphones, going down the Schitty Path seemed the most productive. Those on here who have IRAs and have hit the magic 70.5 or 72.5 (depending) know about the demands of the RMD. Required Minimum Distribution. My money guy suggested that I use some of the money to do/get something I really wanted/liked. For this year I decided audio. The Yggy, Mjolnir, Empryean kit seems like it should hold me for a long time. Next comes considerations for the living room two channel stuff. I love what I read here as it helps guide my decision making.
EDIT - Oh, and I’m struggling with which streaming service to get. (And for marital bliss, I’d like to just settle on just one.) I dumped Spotify since no HiRes. Trying Apple Music now (I’m a full on Apple guy, two Mac minis, MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad, etc.) but not sure about Quobuz or Tidal. All listening done off hard wire up in my home office. What say ye, oh wise ones?
Jazz Profiles with Nancy Wilson on NPRI think it's Rachel Podger that had a podcast that worked like that for symphonic music. Any good jazz podcasts in that vein?
Or something like Suzanne Vegas' old column in the New York Times?
Vali 3 shipped. A new friend for a lonely tube. Yes, this is my third Vali.
I'm p[anning on setting up a small second system in my work room with either a leftover Saga S or leftover Freya S, with a pair of M&K S-3B monitors.
I can't decide if I should use one of two leftover Haflers (DH-120 or 220) or sell those off and grab me an Aegir 2...
Oy.
Wow very nice, I am truly impressed. This one I finished up in 2021
Good call. This Summer's project.Difficult to decide .... may be match the Saga and Freya with the Haflers first to try out whether it sound nice to you or not?
