W-O-W!!! This is not something I would normally run across on my normal listening, but I will now!!

Another Tiny Desk Fav of mine -- although pretty main-stream

I am a big fan of Rachael Price, always have been. I especially like her work with Chris Thile.

And that base. Hell yeah. And the Boston accent (Baahstan?). Nice!

I've only visited the Aosta valley once, I think, but it definitely is a gem.
Although, to be fair, there's barely a corner of northern Italy that isn't beautiful…

Practicality of living is a real issue, though. People living in South Tyrol often have to travel all the way to Vienna if they need highly specialized medical services. Taxes are high, and bureaucracy tends to be maddeningly slow and convoluted. When I was still a child, corruption within public service agencies wasn't exactly a rarity, but I think they've improved quite a bit on that front.

But other than that, South Tyrol, specifically along the mountain sides along the Adige valley between Merano and Bolzano, is pretty much the only place on the planet outside the USA where I'd actually consider retiring to. Between Merano, Bolzano and Lana, you've got pretty much everything you need for your day-to-day life within short driving distance, the people are fantastic, the overall culture there is nearly perfectly compatible with myself, the area is stunning, the climate is relatively mild, and the local foods never disappoint.

Maaaaan, I miss living in the mountains…
Having no (actual) mountains anywhere is one of the few things I'm not looking forward to in Texas. But something's gotta give, I s'pose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Looks absolutely gorgeous. Your info will put that valley certainly on my list of places to retire. Northern Italy was very high on the list anyway, for the reasons you mentioned, people, area, food. Whether the culture is compatible with me, that is something that I still have to find out. I think it is, and living abroad for 10 years now made me think I can adapt pretty easily, but the jury is still out. I have been looking at Cyprus and Portugal too, but I keep coming back to the northern part of Italy.

Many, many, many George Harrison tunes today because, well, it's been a long, long, long time....today is his birthday 81.
There is no comparison to George Harrison!

While we are talking about Italy, do not miss this one.

You can't go wrong with any Yggy, IMHO. Now that I've had some time to sleep on the post I made last night to @adias , I think I'll revise it a bit:

  • Yggy OG (the one with the Analog Devices chipset) is a spectacular performer in both the time and frequency domains.
  • Yggy MiB (the one with the TI 11001B chipset) is just as spectacular w/r/t time domain, and even better in terms of top-end clarity and "open-ness".
You'll notice that I didn't mention p___k___ at all. :p
When I got the GS2 A1, A2 cards were still available so I thought I might order an upgrade set later in spring. They ran out almost immediately though, so that plan went south very quickly. I’ve always loved the way the AD DACs sound in Bifrost, Gungnir, and now also In the GS2 so it would have been nice to be able to hear the best of the best so to speak. But if my ears would hear the MIB the same way as you describe it, that possibly would be even better! No hurry though, still enjoying A1 very much!

I am a big fan of Tom Waits so I love this rendition. Sorry I am being redundant, I have shared it before.
