She's completely fantastic! ...

Dang (live)

....
I lead an intentionally sheltered life so don't read too much into this but....

That was the most amazing multimedia art expression I've ever seen. I may even venture or dare to say it was... fantastic. Completely so...

She's completely fantastic! She came out of nowhere (for me - longtime fans of her other projects obviously knew better than I) and smacked me upside the head with fun engaging pop with excellent production and sound that I later found out she does herself. That's rad!

She's also unafraid to be a little weird, also rad.

Dang (live)

Edit: I got my metalhead drummer friend totally hooked on her. That was fun.
OK. She's won me over...

I really like NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts. Discovered a few outstanding but unknown (to me) artists.

And another...

Oh yeah. Her Tiny Desk performance is captivating, standing out even in the hallowed company that production has featured.

Here's another TD that blew my mind, in a manner that bordered on complete.

FKA Twigs Tiny Desk ("from home" during the pandemic)

Another Tiny Desk Fav of mine -- although pretty main-stream

Shout out to KEXP! Best radio station ever. My favorite source for new music discovery. Huge variety of programming with their different shows has really diversified what I enjoy listening to over the years. Definitely up there as one of my favorite things about living in Seattle. They have some legendary studio sessions on their YouTube channel.

I discovered "Deep Sea Diver" through their station, a Seattle band with that's become one of my favorites:

Random fact for anyone in Seattle: the drummer of Deep Sea Diver (Peter Mansen) is a barista at Lighthouse Coffee Roasters in Fremont... best coffee in Seattle. Legend has it he makes pretty great "dick lattes".

And in case anyone is interested in following what KEXP is playing... there is a Spotify playlist that's updates in (near) real time:

I'm using Soundiiz to sync it to Qobuz every night to get the high res versions. Much better than the low bitrate stream KEXP has on their website. When I'm in an adventurous moods I'll put the daily mix on shuffle and see what happens.

I always read OG ("original gangster") as referring to the D/A chips only.
Somehow OG always appears as “Old Geezer” in my mind… 🤪
