How about a pair of DALI On-walls? They work great for me with a single Aegir 1. Got a pair open-box from AA in Grand Rapids for less than $500...

Nice setup. I have some very specific goals that conflict with the premise though. Speaker placement is my biggest concern overall. I have tried all sorts of gear over the years and speaker placement has always proven to be critical once a certain level of gear quality has been achieved. I am a Cardas fan boy I guess because nothing beats the golden ratio when figuring where my speakers (and my ears) need to be. Wall mounted simply doesn't achieve the soundstage I expect.

This is the formula I use exclusively in my current room. When you get this right, it's astonishing. I will admit it' takes commitment to sound and a very cool wife to live with Cardas placement but the sound is well worth the compromise.

Horizontal Listening Rooms

If you are forced to place your speakers on the long side of a symmetrical, rectangular room, create a Golden rectangle in each rear corner. Your speakers can then be placed anywhere along a line extending from the outside rear corner through the inside front corner.

Golden Rectangles, 1.618 from the side walls x 1 from the rear wall, create diagonal lines for speaker placement in a horizontal room.

Hers a link in case anyone wants to check thier room placement suggestions. I find once I run the calculations it's a matter of an inch or less to tune the sound by adjusting toe in.
