Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I update it soon, will need to have something to do while on recovery after the surgery this week.
I have a few topics to add

Yes, I know cardboard is probably there already but it deserves more *

New version coming soon, entries now being accepted for the review process.

* Edit : How wrong I have been, Cardboard is not on the SineWave, it's no wonder @bcowen is not talking to me.
Past sins can always be forgiven, assuming cardboard gets an entire wavelength to itself in the next version. 🤣 🤣

I've been in a hot air balloon at 5,500 feet.

:sunglasses:

As a youngster, I got to fly with a goodly number of Air America pilots in Laos and Thailand. Even at 10, I knew they were mostly CRAZY. Fixed wing stuff included Helio Couriers and Pilatus Porters, and big stuff like C7, C46, C47, C123 and C130s, and UH-1s. Also an oddity thing called a Volpar B18T. Look that one up for fun!

When I was 12 years old, in the 1980s, I was permitted to take the controls of the Goodyear Blimp, while flying out of Pompano Beach, FL.

You can’t make Schiit like that up, so you know it’s true.
When I was much older than 12 in the 1980's, I got to drive the Wienermobile around a parking lot. Nobody wants to make that up, so you know it's true too. 🤣 🤣

While I'm not Roonic myself, my hunch is that several folks here will have mixed feelings at best about this news:
https://news.harman.com/releases/ha...i-device-multi-room-audio-technology-platform

Well… I guess this was unavoidable.
Who knows, might actually benefit the product. But probably not, since leadership seems to remain in place.
If things get even worse than they already are, it’s just yet another reason to get the ball rolling on a competing product.

Posted elsewhere by me.
As a lifetime Roon Subscriber I'm concerned that in two years we'll see Roon as we know it halted. Lifetime subscriptions honored, but product no longer supported and advanced. Then Harman released Hroon as a subscription only model and the latest developed generation.

Please realize I know nothing, and this is purely conjecture/concern.

And Yes... Logitech ruined Slim Devices.

I didn’t realize Harman was a Samsung subsidiary.

This could be interesting. Maybe Samsung is taking aim at Apple Music/Classical.

PM me when you're ready to go. We'll go door to door if need be.

They are in denial (a 65 year old tube sounds better than modern class D, ha) or they have never 'heard' the music so they don't know what they don't know. Maybe a 12-step program 🤔, AA, Audioholics Apprenticeship.

And Harmony Remotes. :frowning2: which reminds me I gotta program my sofabaton for the Home Theater.

And Google took some photography software from not free to free to no longer available.

I guess I am back to seeking whole home audio on the cheap - as it sounds like my former favorite Sonos' Direct doesn't pass the bits un-molested.

Other best products that didn't win? TIVO...and what else?

I have a strange affinity for ugly or odd airplanes but I draw the line at the B18T. It is possible to replace radials with turbines and not kill the looks.
Volpar didn't get that particular memo.
Basler, on the other hand, got the memo, read it and understood the assignment.

If I were to win a good sized lottery I'd love to have a Courier or and a Porter.

I'm definitely concerned but the press release makes me think that Harman will support Roon but let it run as an independent company. Fingers crossed.

All this talk about aircraft. I once flew from LaGuardia to Chicago/Midway on a Lockheed L-188.

After all these years I just looked it up, and apparently I'm fortunate to be here to tell the tale.
