OK.

Since nobody has brought it up:

Back in college days you could get 10 cans for $1. Of course, $1 was a crapload of money when *I* was in college. 🤣
And Boxes of Mac & Cheese...and Ramen Noodles...and this was at least one way to save up coin for the weekend...which usually started on Thursday afternoon (sometimes Wed 😏)

So on a more serious note (only slightly) for those of you who grew up in southern WI, Ms Jody (Biiiiiig birthday yesterday) is researching her father's birthplace, Zion, IL.

Any history, folklore, facts or stories would be most welcome.

We did visit and wander the streets and visit Dowie's house and will be back for more research when we get closer to that book!

Cheers
I grew up in Waukegan, one city south of Zion. Proud home of Jack Benny, Ray Bradbury, and fine jazz drummer Marvin "Smitty" Smith, among others.

When I think of Zion, I think of the Dunes Theater where you could catch a movie for a buck (saw Star Wars there in 1977), the roller rink, the Illinois Beach State Park, and of course the nuclear power plant.

The early history of Zion is pretty entertaining. Check out the Zion Historical Society web site.

I have the same setup but I’ve never had it cut out on me like that. Have you tired a different USB cable? Does the connection seem solid on both the Jotunheim and the computer? Is it possible that the USB card’s connections within the Joutenheim may be loose? (Since it was used, I assume you don’t know how it was handled - if someone dropped or banged the unit around, there might be issues inside.)
Hooked up a powered USB hub and so far it's working as advertised. Currently jamming to Blackened.

Can I ask a question of the Schiit experts here. Would you trade in a Bifrost 2 black (not 2/64) with a Jotunheim 2 with multibit dac silver? I don't really care about the amp or the dac as I have Yggdrasil and tube amps.

I am thinking that the Jot 2 with multibit dac is a nice all in one which strangely is missing from my system? :)

Both items are in as new condition. The Jot is obviously newer. So would you do an equal trade for it? The Bifrost is mine.

Does the photo do the handle justice? I find it very attractive but it looks unfinished?
It looks better in person, regardless I am moving on to other builds,🤪
I am watching Jason talking about the new phono stage.😀 naturally I would prefer tubes but this is a bandaid for the time being.
