Sir, with due respect, you'll note that I included an ellipsis after the first sentence of your quote. That indicates to the reader that there is more. So I did not forget the fact there was more to your quote, or mislead the reader in any way shape, or form.Pretty convenient for you to quote just 1/3 of my statement for your reply.
I'm done.

There's being pedantic, and there's being right. Do we really need to add "that is not a general-purpose computer" to the description? Show someone a picture of an Urd, and they think "CD player." Show someone a picture of a computer, and they think "computer."
The description stays the same.

Hi Jason. Nice to read from you too again. I'm very appreciative of your reply. I'd recommend that you reconsider your position and modify the Urd description as stated on your website. I'll gladly author a number of alternatives that would be more accurate and truthful. Thank you for your consideration. - HalThere's being pedantic, and there's being right. The Schiit website regarding the Urd indicates "Urd is the only Urd is the only CD transport with USB output and two USB inputs. t and two USB inputs. "
I'll disagree, however, I'm open to rationale as to why the statement is true. Note the computer I'm using at the moment has the ability to play optical media and output digital via the USB A port. Also note my inquiry is not about "quality" so the Urd drive mechanism and proprietary unison implementation is irrelevant.
Please explain why Urd is the *only* CD transport with USB output. Thank you.

A ham fisted mechanic might use a pair of pliers to undo a bolt, but that does not make them a wrench, nor a spanner either for that matter. There's being pedantic, and there's being right. Hey! You’re right! A Thousand points! Woohoo! No sir. My Yggdrasil OG DACs USB input is of the USB "B" variety. My computer USB connectivity is of the "A" variety. I have a USB A to B cable that connects from my laptop to my Yggdrasil. So again, Urd is *NOT* the only CD transport with USB output.
In the immortal words of Jeremy Clarkson: Moving on.
Also checkout Blue Jeans Cable. They'll make what you need to any length needed and some cables are available in various cables. I'm currently using several of their cables including RCA>BNC to connect my CD/DVD player to Yggy. https://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/digital-audio/index.htm
I can’t +1 Blue jeans hard enough. I have Canare bi-wire cables from them and the craftsmanship is bananas good.
From the “I also want a Pony“ department: I was hoping to see some StraightWire USB B-to-C and A-to-C options under PYST (their cables are really, really good, check out eval work done somewhere on the web by atomicbob). Rolling the dice on CableCreations for now, I guess…

Are we expecting the next "fight" will be SACD and or MQA CD.....? Thats sounds like ass .....
I'll up the ante. Playback of optical media of any kind S - - - S in comparison to playing the equivalent file directly from HD or USB stick. CD 16/44 easy to replicate. High res no longer a CD candidate so moot point. DVD better to use vob file. SACD who cares, even Schiit agrees the lion's share is PCM. PCM 24/192 rules for now. DXD is excellent also. Happy listening.
MQA is lossy. Good luck. Even Schiit states "different strokes for different folks".Are we expecting the next "fight" will be SACD and or MQA CD.....? Thats sounds like ass .....

At least Jason verified my assertion. A computer is a transport.
Learn something, people. Stop being complacent. Everything can be improved. My job is to shed light, and not to master.
