Anyone at the meet up in Texas happen to have info about what looks to be an integrated amp in a vidar/aegir chassis? It appears too narrow to be Ragnarok.

Pretty sure that's just a Rag 2. It just looks narrower because of some lens distortion/forced perspective illusion.

I think that it is Ragnarok 2.
Here's a picture from post #55, from the same thread.
Edit, @XERO1 beat me to it.

Oh yeah, the version with the offset flat plates and top rectangular getter is a great sounding tube and can still be found for un-ludicrous prices.

Thanks bcowen. I bought that tube. 👍 The first of what I'm sure will be several purchases to explore 6SN7s, which I've never done before. Good thing I have a bunch of 12A..7s to sell now that I'm officially old and will never use them all.

Now I just have to read all of the posts here on 6SN7s to get started. Oh, and order a Lyr +.

Less iron, cheaper tubes, less power (but still plenty enough grunt for headphones)
Now that Eddie Current closed down, an easier-to-manufacture version of one of their 2A3 amps could be quite attractive. The only reason I've sold one of my Aficionados and will likely sell the other one soon is that they are being replaced by DNA Stellaris, which are very pricey but the acme of 2A3-ness IMHO.

I ran a Shindo Cortese in my 2-channel setup for about 10 years. It used the F2A tubes. SET-based systems can sound quite nice. But you do pay for them.

Here is a well informed (ahum) guy on YouTube that informs about The Texas Audio Roundup.
Please listen at around 18 seconds in the video. That must be the best informed channel on YouTube. Hilarious.

Several? Multitudinous might be more applicable. 🤣

For the 12A..7's, there's always adapters. LOL! The 12AU7 has the same amplification factor as a 6SN7, and the 12AT7 can work in some 6SN7 circuits but not all. The 12AX7 isn't a likely candidate though due to its much higher gain, but again it depends on the amp.

That or the product of an unholy union between a Ninja Foodi air fryer and an escaped Schiit Urd. "Urdi"? "fUrdi"? "Oordi"? "Ourdi" May be it is just a thing some one left sitting there to get people talking?

Die alte Straßenkröte oder ORT

Yes, I had to use a translator as my family came from Germany a few gens back but were NOT permitted to speak German as our elders said they came to America to be Americans, NOT German-Americans. I have asked other people from Germany and apparently this is often typical of German immigrants.
