Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

These are crossover-less designs, I think? There's a je ne sais quoi to crossover-less designs that I fine irresistible.

I'm glad these are proving worthy of your attention. I tend to fall under the spell of eye candy a bit too easily :-D
They are without crossovers. Eventually I will make a pair for others to hear, once I refine the process.

Not sure if it's 100%, but I suspect it's not far off. I don't imagine it would be less than $1499, however. If Jason signs each of the 250 made, I could easily see $1799 and who knows what in the secondary market.

🤔 Hey, @Jason Stoddard - How about adding $200 more for a signed unit with all proceeds going to a charity.*

*Might I suggest the Ripper2860 Tyr / Urd fund? 😀

Just realized that while people were still guessing Folkvangr price, that original link to the Facebook pictures by that photographer stated the cost at $1799. Any reason to think they would be wrong?
Yes.
The Facebook post was posted before Thursday’s live stream. On Thursday’s live stream, Jason and Mike did not want to name final prices for Folkvangr nor Urd.
If the pricing named in the Facebook post is official, then there would have been no reason to not name the price in the stream as well.
So, either the price named in the Facebook post is a guess in itself (and thus probably incorrect), or it is official but it was posted by mistake.
Based on that, I have to rely on what was said in the stream as the most reliable source of information, hence the continued guessing.

But 1.8k doesn’t sound unreasonable for what Folkvangr is. Even if it’s 80% higher than my own guess.

I'd venture a guess that if Folkvangr were a product manufactured by just about any other company, the price would be significantly more than what Schiit is going to charge.

MD 2020, Balvenie....pretty much the same thing, right?
If it's good enough for Jake and Elwood, it's good enough for me.
[edit] Oops, that was Night Train, wasn't it...?

My favorite best looking eyepiece I ever sold. It is a 2" diameter eyepiece; almost as wide as it is tall.
Unfortunately, University Optics shuttered their doors a couple of years ago. Early in my astronomy hobby I had several of their orthoscopic eye pieces, which I sold when I discovered Tele Vue Radians. Now I wish I still had the UO orthos, not that I'd sell my Radians. :)

Our son got an unexpected holiday yesterday when the walk-in at the pizza parlor he works in quit working, ruining two hundred pounds of dough. I hope Schiit is built to last, his/ my Bifrost/ Magnius/ Audeze played for ten hours straight. He enjoyed every minute of it.

Obviously you built a Whammy amp, I have one somewhere and use it if I want to hear solid state. A fine little amp.

From the News I Never Thought I'd Hear Department:
IKEA introduces a turntable, well, they call it a record player.
Wonder how much assembly will be required. Where do you use the allen key?
It's part of a new collection, OBERGRANSAD, developed with the participation of the music group Swedish House Mafia. (Somehow, this does not sound promising.)
Apparently IKEA used to sell audio gear back in the day, this is their first record player since 1973.
Jason, are you sure you won't resurrect SOL?

Not so much. There aren't really many 6N6P alternatives, so 8 of the 10 tubes will stay pretty much set. Having just 2x 6N1Ps, which offer the most alternatives (especially with adapters), it's really not going to be much more expensive than rolling with a Valhalla 2.
6h30Pi is a good alternative.

I always liked this variant with my little dot: https://www.tubes-store.com/product_info.php?products_id=295

6N30P-DR is an expensive alternative.

Some interesting info in general: http://www.lampizator.eu/UPGRADE/upgrade noval tubes to 6H6P.html
